Redoing my catch can and need pcv hose recommendations

I don't know why this is so hard to find. i need a 1/2 inch id hose that can handle 22-24 hg of vacuum without collapsing. i ordered this because it said pcv and it's mishmoto branded, like that really matters. I didn't read the reviews and some say it collapses. i had been using a ghetto setup with 3/4 inch hose and a 1/2 inch hard nylon air tubing inside it to keep it from collapsing. that setup looks horrible though. https://www.amazon.com/Mishimoto-Bl...ocphy=9011707&hvtargid=pla-734178012407&psc=1

Everyone says fuel line will collapse when it gets hot. I guess this is why ford used hard plastic lines.

There is regular fuel line low-psi 5-7 what's used on carburetors, then there is EFI fuel line which is higher psi 30-60. You can always get A/C hoses too...

i'm going to try this mishmoto hose first. i'll keep it as far away from heat as possible and make it as short as possible.

Look for some power brake booster hose. I do believe fuel line is burst rated not vacuum rated, pressure in the wrong direction.

On my 3V, the passenger side catch can has 3/8" hose and the driver's side 5/8". The hose I used is thick rubber that won't collapse under vacuum.

That's what happened to that Titan submersible. The carbon fiber wasn't designed to handle massive 40 mpa external sea water pressure...with just 1 mpa internal air pressure. However, carbon fiber tanks will handle massive internal pressure...and 1 mpa external pressure. After XXX compression / expansion cycles,after XXX dives, it finally delaminated, imploded, and they were all done in a split second. Water temps at that depth are aprx 16-20 F. Not certified, and not built to any standard. Everybody previously told em that carbon fiber was not the material to use for that application.

Ever seen a carbon fiber driveshaft explode into a million semi circular pieces on a mustang. It twists 4 X as much as a steel DS....and 3 X as much as an aluminum DS. But this is way OT.

I’m using Mishimoto hoses and they don’t collapse for my catch can. After 4000 kms, the catch can was almost full. So the hoses are definitely not getting restricted.

Why not run PTFE line or regular AN hose (if not using E85) to plumb it?

Chemistry lab suppliers have dedicated vacuum hoses,too. But usually they are red.

As others have stated PTFE will probably be the best long term solution

All I see to be able to find is un-reinforced silicone hoses they sell for vacuum.
