It has not gone through the clear.
I do not have a buffer but I have tried the Scratch X.
That stuff did not do a damn thing to help me at all.

Suggestions?
Thanks!

How hard and long did you apply the Scratch X?

Might try Ultimate Compound.

I like Meguiar's ultimate compound. Just don't go too hard with it. It will remove any scratches in the clearcoat but it will also remove the clearcoat if you use it too much.

^^^^^ I should have been more clear. You'll be rubbing for a long time before you cut through the clear with UC.

No worries by hand

Invest in a buffer. There's plenty of tutorials on youtube on how to remove scratches properly. If it has not gone through the clear the proper way to do it is to lightly wet sand with 2000 grit. That way you don't dig too much into the clear. Also when you wet sand, all you are doing is bringing the clear around the scratch to the same depth as the scratch. Then you " buff " it out to bring back the shine and not notice the scratch anymore.

you can " mask it " all you want with fillers and crap like that. It will still come back. I'm not a fan of rubbing compound. either by hand or with a buffer. I'd rather grab my porter cable, some meguiars m107 or menzerna and work at it.

i agree with eddypython...invest in a PC...it'll make things so much easier for you

and you don't always need to wet sand to remove scratches...the pc and the right pad/polish can remove some minor scratches

We have Porter Cables, and some pads/polishes that could probably help you out.

Feel free to email me [email protected]

Send a picture of the damage, and perhaps we have something here that I can put a kit together for you and get that car looking better than ever.
