I reserved a new 2012 Boss from my frod dealer who is alloted only two. Price should be around $45,000 loaded with mark-up. Is it not worth the price? Thanks

I'm really digging the Laguna Seca package with the rear seat delete, I think the seats and the rear brace look really sharp. To me the boss is totally worth it. I'd like to buy one and keep it for the long haul.

Seca package

The Laguna Seca package is the car I am going to order, but the color combinations are going to be the hardest pick for me. I think it may be the Silver and blue strip combo??? I wish they had rod and crank options too. Now it is time to sell my 06 which I just got back from Powerhouse. It has and L&M stroker with a 76mm and a PA 4r70 with a lot of other upgrades. The dealer said he would take it as a trade but I would lose big time. I have about $30K in this car! Anyway, what color combo would you guys pick? Thanks

Pricing hasn't been released yet, good luck getting one for $45k. Either prepare to buy a regular boss, or prepare to spend $5k-$10k more than you thought.

And, the Laguna Seca is going to be a very limited production Boss. There's a good chance your dealer won't even get one. You can't just order it, your dealer has to win the allotment in a raffle which hasn't happened yet.

I'm jealous about the car but I have no clue on prices, that sounds about where it should be though, comfortably between a GT and a GT500.

Yea, the price was a ballpark and I can handler higher, but it is the dealer mark-up that I can't stand and that's where I will get a break since I have bought 3 new cars/truck from him in the last year. I don't have the details yet, but all I know is my dealer is alloted 2 and he is saving a reservation for me. I prefer the Laguna Seca model but time will tell. Thanks for the info.

If dealers mark the Boss up too much, people will just get the MUCH faster and more powerful base model GT500. I know I sure as fuck wouldn't buy a Boss. If I were looking to spend $45k on a car, I would go ahead and bump up my purchase limit and get a GT500.

Shit. People are getting very near 440 to the damned tires with basic bolt-ons in the 2011 GT's. I just don't see spending that kinda of cabbage for exclusivity.

The Boss will be more than a GT500 once you factor in the markup, and the Laguna Seca will have an even bigger markup.

I wonder when they can be ordered ?

Late winter/Early spring '11.

2011 GT500 is $55k. 2012 will probably be even higher. If someone were looking to spend $45k on a car, they probably won't spend $55k. So $45k for a Boss sounds pretty reasonable. A fully loaded GT is around $40k already, and they're selling no problem. The Boss is very different from a GT500 and is/will be marketed toward a different crowd than the GT500 guys. There are guys who are looking for a unique great handling Mustang (which the GT500 is not -although the '11 is much better) and will pay top dollar for it.

As for the GT hp, around 400-415rwh is where you'll find just about every '11 with all the bolt ons. You can probably find a couple higher that were dyno'd on some generous dynos, but definitely are the "norm". Regardles, it's still a lot. My buddys '10 GT500 only made 443 to the wheels and weighs a significant amount more.

The Boss will be more than a GT500 once you factor in the markup, and the Laguna Seca will have an even bigger markup.

I tend to agree. I think mark up on the Laguna will be pretty crazy considering they won't be easy to get. The regular Boss probably not as crazy, but still in somewhat of a demand.

Basically if you were to compare the Mustang to Porsche. The GT500 would be the 911 Turbo a fast car with damn good handling but more of a GT car than a pure track star. The Boss would be like the GT3, not as fast in a straight line but a more tactile and pure bred track car.

If your looking for a track star, a 2011 GT is a idea IMHO than the Boss or Laguna Seca. You can modify it to your handling balance and you don't have to hold a Ford dealer at gun point while shoveling 100's into his back pocket to get one.

Congrats on the reservation!

I really, REALLY like the blue/white ones. I'd probably choose that one over the black/red simply because I don't like the red wheels on that one.

The Laguna Seca version is gonna be the way to go.

For the first Mustang that has a 5.0 and can handle a 1G turn from the factory, 45 isn't bad at all. Time to start saving!
