Roush M90 Leaking oil

My 08 Roush 427 is leaking oil from beneath the supercharger (gear oil since it smells like rotten onions). Its leaking enough to have small pools ontop of the engine and to drip onto the ground. Has anyone experienced this problem? I'm thinking that the gasket just popped from the last 3+ years of boosting.

Other facts: Under 20K miles. Completely stock 427r bought from a Roush dealer new. I'm not a gear head so gotta take it to a tech to work on it :/

Suggestions/experiences?

Not exactly apples to apples here but I've had the snout seal leak on my Whipple. Sent them an email, was told to call and they sent out the parts. I'd think Roush would take care of you especially since you bought the full meal deal and didn't just slap it on yourself. Call Roush and see what they say.

I was thinking the same thing after I posted.....IDK. Would there be enough in there to cause...... "small pools on top of engine and drip to the ground"?

There is no oil being fed through the M90 to lube it, it must just be lubed by internally packed bearings.

Not sure why and it doesn't make sense why you would see oil there. If I had to take a guess, I would say it is motor oil and it is being fed into the blower from the line going off of the valve cover and running into the hose connections on the TB adapter neck.

There should be a gearbox that the snout is connected to. It should hold lubricant for those gears (should be eaton supercharger oil since it's an eaton supercharger). Didn't you have to fill it during the install process?

Nope I am pretty sure this is not applicable to the M90, as there was no maintenance or supercharger oil change instructions and no oil to fill upon installation. Here is the M90 installation instructions.....

The blower comes pre-filled from Roush and should be pretty much maintenance free, I think they are good for something like 50k-100k miles before requiring an oil change.

I guess it is possible it has blown a gasket but if I had to guess I would tend to agree with this post and say it is oil from the PCV lines.

I had the M90 that was stock on my Supercoupe T-Bird. There was a screw on the front of the case to add lubricant. I think it took a 1/4 Allen wrench.

Talked to roush. They said that it is most likely coming from where the snout connects to the main part of the supercharger. It uses frpp supercharger oil. Roush suggests removing the blower and sending it off to eaton to check it out. Yeah roush, big help...

Even on Roush's website the m90 comes with a 36K warranty....

+1 on the 3/36 warranty on the m90 as long as u are stock, which is what u said before...only thing is that is 3 years are up, doesnt matter if its 36k miles or not, warranty is up...

FYI GM supercharger oil is the same as Ford and half the price.

Yep, I'm over the 3yrs. Gonna pull the blower this week. I'll prob give eaton a call about prices ect. No use sending it off if it's gonna cost the same as a new one (my fear lol).

I've decided to send it to stiegemeier. A full rebuild is only 375. That's probably less than labor if I took it to ford and I doubt a dealer can rebuild it if there is really a problem. Too bad all the info online says the m90 doesn't gain much, if at all, from a port
