You have to seal the back of the washer and the bolt. If you don't it will leak between the crank and hub.

Really?...oil seams to be leaking between the crank pulley and the timing cover. It's the not front seal as it looked fine when replacing the crank pulley.

Wouldn't the leak come out front of the crank pulley if I didn't RTV the washer?

Also even if I put some RTV when tightening the bolts the washer would keep turning and mushing all the RTV unevenly no?

Yes, it would leak from the front.

Do you have a 3v front cover on a 3v motor?

It would, but it would seal. My experience tells me that any defishency can leak everywhere! Lol

The lower dab of sealant on the pass side valve cover will also let oil leak down on the AC compressor.

Yes it's 3v cover and 3v block. I don't think the leak is from a higher point on the engine bay. As anywhere from the crank pulley and up is clean and dry.

The AC compressor is the dirtiest along with my crank position sensor have the heaviest coat of oil, my Paxton intercooler pipe and oil filter have thin coats of oil cover in dust. Then I guess as I drive it spreads to the rest of the bottom like oil pans and k-member.

It's not enough where I see spots on my driveway. I has to be leaking between the pulley and timing cover as slung around as it spins.

But I swear the front seal looked perfectly normal and it was replaced about a year ago when I was reinstalling another crank pulley at the time.
