looking for suggestions on getting the best looking finish on my satin silver GT.

it looks OK now, no swirl marks or major blemishes but i feel the finish has no depth.

i use california gold wash and turtle wax ice spray wax, but neither were bought specifically for this car, just what i had in the shed.

any recommendations would help.

i read all the stickies, and EVERY other thread in this sub-forum, aswell as searched google.

i was mainly looking for personal experience from people with silver cars and their recommendations on what worked best for them.

Silver is going to hide most of everything: swirls. scratches ect. Anything neutral in color will look decent at all times. I would reccommend buying some poliseal and optiseal to top it with. It will last a long time and keep it looking good.

Silver is unique in that it never looks really dirty or really shined up. Its gotta be the most dirt friendly color. I just use my PC 7424 for deep cleaning and some meguiars for wax. Nothing too complicated.

I clay bars my silver mustang the other day. I was amazed by the results. It added a lot of depth to the clear/paint. I have not gotten around to waxing it yet either. I would start there and move to waxes.

polish with m105/205, then follow the sticky. Black Light and Lava will look great on silver as well.

Remember waxes and sealants are really color agnostic. The sticky was only labeled for red, because that was what the owner had when I answered his question.

If you want to not use BL/Lava/V07, go to autoality and try 4 star paint sealant. Tell them I sent you. They will treat you well.

Also with silver just because you may not be able to see the swirls, you definitely have them. The ford factory and the dealer took the liberty to install the swirl option for you.

thanks for the recommendations Seer, i was hoping you'd post.

i did infact notice plenty of swirls tonight while walking up to it in a lit restaurant parking lot.

is the blacklight/lava/V07 much better than the opti-seal and poli-seal, or just marginally, as i've already ordered them.

I have Vapor Silver on mine and I have been using Zymol Carbon and have been thoroughly impressed with the results to be honest. I am going to be trying Zymol Concours and see how that works out for me next.

The lava will pop more but both are great choices.
