Everyone seems to have pictures of their car on them, but I never see the brand or part number for each. I'm trying to figure out what to run on my 17x4.5 RaceStars and the prices are just outrageous - more expensive than the rears. wtf

Here's what I've found.

M&H 26.0 x 4.5 - 17
$184 ea

M&H 28.0 x 4.5 - 17
$189 ea
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mnh-mss024

Phoenix 27.0 x 4.5 - 17
$151 ea
http://www.dragracetires.com/4-0-22-5-15-phoenix-drag-front-191.html

Are there any other options I'm missing? Does anyone know of any discounts / specials that would make them cheaper? Also, if you have a picture of any of these on a car, I'd appreciate seeing them. I'm trending toward the Phoenix tires, as they are 27" tall and obviously about $70 cheaper for the pair.

I'm on my phone but the pics are in my build thread. I like them. I drive to and from the track on them. They aren't for dd use. Do you want a bias ply or a radial?

Aren't the tall M&H's bias ply? I'd love to have a taller tire (185/55-17's on mine now), but I'm a die hard radial. fan

Have you given any thought to squeezing a 205/55/17 on the rim?

I had not. Is it common practice to run that size when running a drag radial rear tire?

My rears are bias plys and I would prefer to not mix tire types. Also that seems a little wide for a 4.5" wide wheel but I could be mistaken.

If anyone has experience with them, please do share.

It is a little wide. Didn't realize you were running bias ply, thought they were drag radials.

I just mounted up some phoenix 4.5x27x17s, they are very similar to a DS2 or ET front as far as profile. I didnt like the 185/55/17 M&H radial, way too short for my liking so I switched to these.

Downside is the weight rating of 920lbs, I wouldnt street drive on them even though they ave a DOT stamp. Will be fine for drag only..

They also weigh 7lbs less each than the 185/55 M&H radial.

These are what they look like on mine with 17x9.5 rear wheels with 295/45/17 M/T radials.

They are bias tires, like I said similar in construction to a Moroso DS2 or M/T ET front.

I got them from Jegs, the main seller/distributer is dragracetires.com in Chattanooga TN.
