my brother just bought a house for 180k on a really nice piece of land. oh, and its on the inter-coastal water. what? oh yeah, the north is awesome.
:kma:

hahahah

South for life!

Let me know how Hurricane season goes.

And your right, because this person on the internet says where he lives is better, I am just going to pack up my family and move down the street. So we can enjoy old people and low taxes. Maybe even buy a sweet Section 8 government owned property. WOOHOO.

I like where I live even if you don't understand why I do.

Billings was the same way. It hasn't been affected at all by the times. West of the devide on the other hand........

You really have to visit MT to appreciate what it has to offer. I like being able to take off and drive, without having to get through an hour of bumper to bumper traffic. I do hate that we have no Mustang clubs or the like around here though, and the nearest track is 5 hrs away.

I would rather not buy a Foreclosed Home next to probably Section 8 housing.

I built a new home here in Pearland, Tx. Just south of Houston for $166K three years ago. 2900 square foot, Two story, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, game room, garage, 13K square foot back yard plus flooring, bathroom, and kitchen upgrades. Anybody that knows the area definitely knows that Pearland is very far from the ghetto.

^^^ That's a great deal Mac. When I bought my last house, I spec'd out building a home and it was well over 200 a square foot.

I paid 239,000 for a 3200 sq ft 20 year old house, and that was the least expensive one I could find after searching for almost a year.

LMAO...I used to manage a bar that had a Bocce ball pit in the back. I bet 95% of the people around here have no idea what the hell Bocce is. I know I didnt till I started working there.

Yeah, I got pretty lucky. Built it right before Pearland started building up. Now my house is appraised at $240K. I can usually get the property taxes down with the city. They usually will work with me cause they cant raise the value of your house more than 5%/year by law. But the Homeowners insurance is a killer. Goes up about $300/year since Hurricane Ike.

DAMN!!! See, now that is something us southerners can only say we have seen in pictures. Shit like that just amazes me. When it snows "HARD" here, there may be 4" of snow actually stuck to the ground and that has only happened a few times in my lifetime (30 years). Deepest snow I have ever been in was in Wolf Creek Pass, Colorado and there was never any snow up over peoples houses or anything like that.

You guys are yelling at me like I love where I live.

No for the most part I said it sucks, I explained some benefits. Every place has its ups and downs. I am sure there are times in Florida it sucks, just like here.

I like it here because of the 3 seasons we get a year, cheap living, slow pace. And there is not 16 million people within a 2 block radius of me. Other than winter the weather is pretty damn nice.

Plus if we ever need a loan here we email Warren Buffet and he lends us a Million Dollars. That's why it's better here as well.

But really after visiting Florida,CA,NA,HA I like my laid back State here. Plus you have to love the Cornfed Women.

But as soon as my kids turn 18 the wife and I are buying a Studio apartment in Hawaii and I am selling beach rental equiptment and riding a bike to work everyday.

F Bills, F Hard Work. I want to Fish,Surf, and Ride a bike.

Biggie Smalls said it best.

Shit I would be happy making 7.50 an hour paying 500 a month rent. I wouldn't even have a cell phone.
