SCT HELP

So I sent my SCT X3 to sct a week ago because it would not connect to my computers at all. Any of them 32 bit, 64 bit, mac, windows didn't matter would power on computer could not detect it. So I was unable to get any tune files off nor could I reflash my car back to stock before sending it.

They call me today tell me the main board is fried and they have to replace it.
No big deal only 65.00 to fix...... Except they couldn't get any tunes off the device and basically sending a new device with old casing on it.

My problem comes in that now my Computer on my car has a custom tune on it.
And the new tuner is coming as an unlocked un married tuner.

Please someone tell me that I am not going to have to take the car to the dealership and have them reflash the PCM. To stock and start from square one. What has went from a simple exhaust install / uninstall. Has became a huge cluster.

Any words of advice or anything. I'm hoping that this will be like when one of there many firmware updates go bad and the tuner is left bricked where they can remote access in and fix it from there.

Did u check ur PC to see if u saved the OEM tune?


The device will see the current tune as stock, as long as u don't de-mod it and need to return to stock, u should be fine.

Yeah I need to reflash to another tune. I do have my stock tune saved to a back up hard drive. I took my headers off and went back with mani's for now. Haven't decided if I want them back or not. I am still tossing the idea of trading it in for a new 13. But not having a car payment is always sooooooo nice. And so close.

Afaik, u should be able to load the SCT with the stock tune and custom tunes and be GTG
