Hello, I’m currently having an issue with my 2006 Mustang GT where I’m getting a wrench light and a P061B code and an occasional P0068 code. I bought this car off my brother who had it dyno tuned(years ago) for 42lb injectors and a JLT stage 3 intake. Well a couple years ago the battery died on it and when he replaced it those codes started popping up and the car ran horribly to the point it flooded. Before I got my hands on the car he had replaced the MAF sensor and bought 24lb FP purple injectors and still no luck. I’ve since went to a no tune required intake(AFE ram air) and reset the voltage on the throttle body in hopes to get rid of the P0068. The car runs now but still absolutely like junk and still floods occasionally when I start it. I’ve since got an SCT X4 tuner and tried to tune the car with it using a preloaded tune on the device. Low and behold the P061B is gone and replaced with a P061C code and a permanent wrench light that will automatically turn on even if I don’t start it. So I’m a bit lost here, I’m thinking there’s a chance the throttle body could be bad, maybe a bad ECM or maybe a reflash? Hoping for a little bit of light on this matter, any help is appreciated! If anyone needs for info I’ll happily answer, Thanks.

^ I would do this, and also perhaps try flashing back to a stock file to see if that solves your problem.

Also, when you say you reset TB voltage, what do you mean there? Do you have a stock/OEM TB?

It is a stock throttle body with an adjustable screw for the voltage, set it to the proper voltage. Also the stock tune file is long gone, I got the car tuned from my brother and I already attempted to get the original file and he can’t find it either. I did update the tuner but I can try and run it on my PC to see if maybe there’s more that I’m missing, thanks for the response.

That relates back to an Intenal PCM issue. Is the Firmware on the SCT up to date? Make sure it is and then remove the tune and re-install.
Yes from what I’ve read that’s the case, it goes away when I revert it “back to stock” meaning whatever bootleg tune was on it gets reflashed back on it. When I do go back to the “stock” tune the P061C goes away and the P061B comes back.

Most of the time, screwing with that screw only causes issues. If you are using an OEM TB, you shouldn’t have to adjust TPS voltage….its set from the factory.

I am thinking the TB is the culprit.

if you reach out to SCT, they may be able to get you a stock tune file. Could be worth having regardless.

Went ahead and sent them an email, the car was originally tuned with an SCT X4 before the custom junk tune that’s on it now. Sent them the vin and strategy code along with my device’s serial number. Will keep updated.

That’s what I thought too, it was off if your wondering, may have been my fault but it’s within correct voltage now. looking to pick up a throttle body off someone at the moment if all else fails.
