Shaker 500 Question

My car has the stock system w/o a shaker system. Im tired of not being able to play Mp3 cds and am curious if i can buy a shaker 500 and replace my stock head unit and be able to play mp3s? Will that work or will i need to buy anything else?

I have a shaker 500 and I have no problem playing mp3 songs on a cd. Sometime it will not read the disk but once I put it back in I have no problem....

Did your car come with the shaker 500 or did you replace a stock one like im thinking of doing?

It came with the Shaker 500....

if im not mistaken only the shaker 1000 has external amps. the 500 is a simple plug and play. i'm sure if you google the rear harness for a non-500 and a 500 you could know fore sure.

KEvin, where in FL are you located?

I just finished tearing apart my entire 08 to install my 2nd aftermarket sound system and I had the Shaker 500 in it at one point. I still have the unit.

The Shaker 500 also did have external AMPs (2 of them, one for each sub in the door). They are located on the driver side, right under the hood latch on the wall.

The Shaker had 3 inputs, one was the Power On/speakers, the other for accessories, and the other for the subs.
