Yes, I fucked up. feel like shit about it and had to listen to 3 cops berate me for an hour and a half treating me like I was the lowest scum of the earth. They couldn't even perform their duties and tell me a single thing without including insulting remarks giving me their opinion of me and my actions. Tomorrow you guys can tell me what an asshole I am but for tonight I've heard it enough.

I can't imagine any of us would judge you.

There isn't one driver I know of with a high-horsepower car that hasn't either wrecked or come close.

Our margin for error with these things is slim. I almost took out a guardrail when I first added the supercharger, almost lost it hydroplaning one time on the interstate while passing a semi, once spun-out my BMW M3 in a right 270 while making a right turn in light rain and I got a little too happy with the accelerator pedal, etc...I could go on and on.

As far as the law enforcement guys are concerned, they sometimes love to talk down to people like they are much more wise, but if they had your car they would likely do the same thing at some point. They were just jealous of what you had and it made them feel like better people by berating you.

I would definitely buy it back...and I would think about my plan for a week before I did anything rash.

You could buy a cheap V6 and swap everything into it and have a serious Mustang again...or part it all out and start with a GT500, or buy a totally different toy (Vette, CTS-V, etc.)

It sucks, but now you have options for even more fun!

Car can be replaced...hell, its just a shell. The drivetrain is what matters.

It will likely total with windshield busted from side impact if firewall has been damaged in any way it's a total

If you buy back you can swap it all in a donor
Or part it all out and go coyote ;-)

Likely ins will want it stock if they keep it as they don't want to mess with value of performance parts and built engines etc

So the officer saw you go WOT and lose control? If not they have no grounds to cite you just because you had an ACCIDENT. Say a fucking dog was in the road and you swerved to miss and lost control. If they saw you though, you're fucked.

The cop didn't see me but I'm a lousy liar. I'm probably fortunate that the cop was such a complete and Royal dickhead that I immediately clammed up and didn't say a fucking thing to him any more than necessary. I told him I hit the throttle and it got sideways on me but didn't know how fast I was going. He was too busy acting like a fucking asshole for me to say anything else. I'm seriously considering filing a complaint and having his dash cam recording reviewed to show his gross misconduct.

Damn that sucks. I had something super similar happen 2 years ago in my Mach 1. And the cop was a complete dickhead. But in my case FHP took over the investigation and that guy was way more interested in what I had to say and let me off super easy. If you need any help with anything lmk I'm only 15 minutes from your area.
