HOLY. SHIT!
I've watched Brian's build, talked to him on the phone a couple times, bullshitted with him on a couple forums...and I gotta say, I'm glad you're ok, have loved learning about these motors through your build, but most importantly...I hope you buy another Mustang because this forum will be losing a damn good member with useful input if you slowly start to fade off into the distance.

This just fucking sucks.

I'm super sorry to hear this skwerl!! Glad you are ok though! I watched your build and that was a sick Bullitt! Don't beat yourself up though. Cops are a**holes and crap happens. I smell another build later!

I must be moving up in the world. :thumb:

As so many have said, we are all sorry about the car, but happy that you are safe.

Just read your initial "crash post" again.
Dude, if you need a motor in a hurry to replace that one...load up the hoist and haul ass up here this weekend. We'll snatch mine out since I'm building a new one anyway. We'll worry about particulars later.

The offer is there. I'll feed you some of my killer BBQ and you can crash on the couch for the night. Sorry, live in a 1BR apt. You get the couch.

Sorry to hear of the misfortune, Brian. Glad you're not hurt too bad and hope everything pans out in the end.

I do have to agree with the donor car suggestions made despite your rash decision to dump everything. You have alot of money tied up into what you have currently. You'll likely get a fraction of what you've invested back out of it even parting it out. Unfortunately, you haven't had it all together very long so you might as well keep on enjoying it in another body after some self healing of course.

I realize i'm not that close but I'm also not that far, so anything I can help with, holler.

All that matters is you're ok and no one got hurt. Just the car. Cars can be fixed or new ones can be bought.

Sorry to see and hear Brian. Just be glad it was only the car man.

Take it easy man! Humans make mistakes. We all do it.

Man...just now saw this. Just can't believe it! My heart sank when I saw the photos. Very glad you came out physically ok. What size/brand tires were you running? Hell, I have to be careful even with 325/45/17 drag radials.

You put a ton of heart into that car and it sucks to see it like that. I'm really sorry to see what happened. Hang in there Brian. You'll get inspired once again for another project.

Sorry to see your project end up like that, Brian. Buy it back, get the front straightened out, and ditch the airbags.

Sorry to hear this Brian. What tires did you have under it when you got sideways. I struck mine in 3rd when it was cold out and lost control at 70 and luckily grazed a pine tree branch just enough to put a tiny bit of green on my rear bumper. I got lucky. Its surely happened to to all of us. HOpe it works out for the best though.

I will say this...I was all fired up to build 800+ RWHP until I saw this.
The very first thing I said to myself when I saw this thread...

"Do I really need 800 HP? Look what happened with 650 HP!"

You got me thinking, bro!

Thanks guys. The tires I'm running are the Mickey Thompson Street Comps which were fine the first 2-3 months but quickly turned hard. They feel like they break out quickly and without warning. I've been shopping for better tires (see here) but was waiting for these to wear down a bit more and also pay down my cc a bit as well.

Playing phone tag with the insurance agent today. Hope to get some numbers soon. I did some shopping online this morning to find my approximate value and came up with $18K-21K for a stock Bullitt. None of my mods are covered so this should be a close starting point. I need to get the buy back number and see how badly I'm getting hit.

The one saving grace is that I'll most likely get much more out of it like this than if I tried to sell it before the wreck. Once the money is in my bank account I'll be able to figure out what I'm doing next.

hopefully you will be very surprised by the buy back amount, when i totaled out my jeep they offered me a buy back of only $1500, which i was able to turn around and sell to a salvage yard for $3000. if you do get a decent buy back and want to get rid of the roller after you part it out, let me know. I'm planning to build a road course car and will be needing a gutted roller.

I'm so sorry to see this Brian. It could have happened to any of us with similar power levels driving on the street. I know I had a few very close calls myself. You have a good point on getting the funds out of it this way, hopefully you will have a nice amount that will allow you to come back with something bigger and better.

I'm currently running the same Mickeys now and am having the same problem. I have to turn off the stereo when I want to give it gas... if I don't I can't hear the tires break away (which happens rather abruptly) and find myself in a troublesome situation.

Again, sorry for your loss. I'm sure you will be back in the game soon enough.

Albert
