Wasnt there a track in Carlsbad that closed 5 years ago or something too? Damn shame. God knows I buy a lot of shit just because I race my car. We are keeping the economy alive for gawds sake!!

Same shit happened with John Wayne airport. You ever take off from there? After they take off they (pilots) have to throttle back the engines because of the same reason, residents bitched about the airplane noise, THE AIRPORT WAS THERE BEFORE THE HOUSES you assholes. Did you not see the damn planes before you bought a house there? This is one of many reasons why I moved the hell out of California and came to Texas. Shits real here!

Extremely sad that somebody lost their life. Being a person that has (and on occasion still does) street raced I will say where those two were racing was easily the worst place they could have done it. Residential streets are just that, residential! I would never nor have I ever raced on a street with houses on it. Even the roads I test/tune my cars on don't have houses for miles. It does help to have tracks that are available. It's been proven. I know from just word of mouth that kc street racing has already picked up and it's track hasn't been closed very long at all. The more tracks they close because of noise complainers the more street races and street racing deaths will happen.

We lost a track long ago that had an airport next door...f4 Phantoms and refuelers were busy 24/7/365 and the complaints were still coming about the Track and it was leveraged to close. Noise, I get pulled over for a noisy car and had to wait for a group of harleys to pass by so he could lecture me about public nuisance, I never went back to that park. So many places that we use are under pressure that we don't know anything about until the owner is already in trouble and almost out of options before we hear about it. If you live in a town that has a track be aware that there are always someone out there that wants it closed. Get to know who they are and who your town/city reps are and get in their ears on occasion to let them know you all like the track and how they are good for a community. Don't wait for the meetings to take an intrest, this is where the pleasure police are winning. They have the news clippings and the letters and phone calls and the emails and work diligently to their goal "Closing the track". Go to a meeting where issues like these are brought up and you will see that the complainers are always the same people, they change their targets but the mission is the same.

Get a group of racers to go and ask the track owners to let you know when BS like this restarts so you can counter with your own leverage on the politicians. If your list is longer and your voices are more prevalent and your names are more positive you will crush the weenies.

Tracks and events have sponsers, call them too. Thank them for the sponsership when you order your parts or when you send a thank you letter after an event.

Sounds corny but it does have an effect when you let a councilman/mayor know you are watching and care about your hobby and you will take action that might be harmful to their future election plans.

These bothersome people are not sensible and respect nothing of your labor or your leasure. The more you struggle to make better or make best of your life the better you do become and this is an offense to them. I have seen too much of this in life where business and forced out of a community and with it the jobs and the people along with them tax revenues but never do these people care about you.

Don't leave it up to the track owners to fight them on their own, they are losing.

Nope. Its on Indian land. I.don't see it goin anywhere. Nothing around it. So no noise issue or anything

hmm...i need my registered native card.....i might need to open up a track. My tribe (seneca) has some very strict rules about family lineage so I'm not 100% "registered" with the tribe....but its definitely in my blood. I believe my tribe states that if you are not 100% Seneca or American Indian, then you do not receive any benefits from the tribe (i.e. casino money tax free) My grandfather was 100%, and I am 25%....you'd be hard pressed to find a real native these days....but damn....if I could open a track on the rez.....

Fontana is having noise issues with a douch bag that lives next to it. Mind you they moved in AFTER the track. Iwindale owner went bankrupt. Other people are interested in this track but it can't be sold till the bankruptcy shit is over. Long story short on both.

i vote if fontana is closed for this "douche" guy that EVERY ricer and EVERY racer who wants to hit the track should make a detour past their house on a daily basis with a couple loud revs.... keep it up and you may make them leave....then the track can reopen!

To bad I live in mo. Most of my neighbors don't mind my cars. Some of them claim they can hear my TA long before I ever get to town. I'd park in front of that guys house and pretend I heard "something under the hood" then leave the car running for about an hour or so. Lol.
