I need to know if there is a difference between Spec 64A and Spec 46A. I know the 64A is listed for 96-04 mustangs and the 46A is listed for 05-up. American Muslce web site says they are the same......Why would Spec have too different part numbers for the same part? Which makes me believe they are not the same. I have seen a 64A that has a counter weight bolted on the back and have seen a 46A with with no counter weight. That is the only visual differance that i have seen. Can you unbolt the counter weight on a 64A and use it on 05-up? Tried searching found nothing on this. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've got a 46A and no counter weight. I'd just get the 46A, and wouldn't chance it. Do you already have a 64A? If so, why not sell it and use the money to get a 46?

They are the same I bought the SF64s (the steel one) the only difference is the counter weight and yes it can be removed. It will work fine. They had different part numbers for sales tracking. Most dont know they are the same thats why I got mine brand spanking new for 100 bucks on ebay..lol

i have a 64A....so i just take the weight off and i can use it on a 05-up?
