Hi I hope I'm not double posting but I have an 14 gt with AMR black 18" staggered wheels 255/45's front and 275/40's rear. I need tires and I found a basically new set of nittos for $300 wondering if the 275/40's are to wide for the front and or 9 inch wheels which fronts and or cause any adverse handling etc since I have 10 inch rear wheels? Thanks in advance!

you don't have staggered wheels according to your post.

275/40s are fine on all four

Where didn't I say I don't have staggered wheels? Said my tire sizes and if I can use 275/40's up front and or 9 inch wheels which is what have up front guess should've said have 10 inch wheels in the rears as well.

Looks like a 9 inch rim is the minimum for that size tire, so yes, they will fit. However, they are probably going to look slightly different from the rears.

Not worried about how they look as long as they won't cause any adverse effects in handling rubbing etc.

They probably won't rub, and they probably won't effect handling in any way you'd ever notice. Go for it!

yes, you should have, your post only refers to 9" wheels and different sized tires.

I tried 275-40-18's on 18 x 9 rims on the fronts. Hated the handling. Felt un -responsive ..and
'rubbery'. Then went to same 275-40-18... but on a 18 x 10 rim. Handling was superb.

Correct tire for a 18 x 9 front is a 255-45-18 ( which I had previously...and worked superb).

Ideally you want the FRONT rims to be 1/2" wider than..'measuring width'..... or at least the 'measuring width'.

Optimal wheel size for 275-40-18 tires are: 18x9.5" wheels. Although 275-40-18's are also compatible with 18x10" wheels, I would not however recommend them on a 18x9" wheel, as handling will definitely not feel as responsive and also feel more spongy due from having tire bulge over the rim.
