Just giving you guys a heads up. I was looking over the ultra stang rules for our upcoming get together at FFW next month and I noticed something of interest to many of you guys.

Although it was very cool that they now allow slicks in the class I noticed they prohibited rear coil overs on the cars. They also restrict tire height to 28" whether it be a slick or DOT.

Since I know several of Adam's customers (including adam himself) have them - I thought I would mention it.

Rules...

They also do not allow transbrakes or 2-steps, and the slick size is limited to 28x10.5. I mentioned these items to S.D. a few weeks ago, and he was going to see if they could relax the rules for Fontana (since it is a non-points race). I have not heard one way or the other.

Since I have the coilovers and 28x11.5 slicks, I was planning on running Quick Ford anyway... they have two separate races for that class; one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

I had talked to them before about my TB and you just can't use it or the two-step but as long as you can show it's not connected and being used if challenged, it is okay to be on the car.

But I am still up in the air if the class is only open to 5r55 and stock manual tranny's. I'm hoping the rules mean 'made for' a 2005-2008 mustang.

If not - I will be joining you in quick ford as well. I may do the cruise/shootout as well.

We can forgive the transbrake and the two step as long as you don't use it. I'm waiting on a ruling from George about the coil overs.

Just got off the phone with George Klass. He said, "Hell...nobody is going to be looking under the car and it is a non-points earning race so tell them to come on out and get into Ultra Stang."

So there you have it. Now if I see any of you candyasses in the bracket classes and NOT in U/S I'm going to give you absolute, immortal, never-ending, unmitigated HELL over it. I'll call you names that Navy TI's can't come up with. I also don't want to hear any shit about "the car's at Adam's shop and won't be ready".

Get 'em done and get 'em to the track.

I don't have (rear) coil overs so I don't care. They would know pretty quick if I used the brake or 2-step so I won't.

I'm happy to be able to run in the US - as it's the best class...:leghump:

Glad they allow slicks now. Do you think they would really sweat the 28x10.5 size it not being a points event and all? Jesus, even my DR's are bigger than that.

I'm running US no matter what. If they give me shit about my 29/12 slicks, then so be it, but I'm going to run the class anyway.

There is no way I could come back and post on this forum if I was in the same race as you (SD) and 'ducked' into the bracket classes...:321:

As long as they don't DQ me for 11.50 slicks and the coilovers, I'll run U/S. I'll let the Mrs run the Quick Challenge on Saturday, so I can run in U/S elims on Sunday.

Nobody cares. Just come out and race. I'll handle the tech guys if they blink wrong at the tires. Which they won't anyway.

Okay, that pretty much settles it.

I don't know if I can make it. My cat needs to go to the vet. I have to pick weeds in the backyard that weekend. I have to take down the Christmas lights that have been on the house all year. Oh, and then I have to clean the barbarque. Looks like I am all booked up that weekend.

Actually we will all be there unless its like last year, where we had 70mph winds on Sunday.

+100000 and a bag of chips.

That would be awesome.

Are you going to make FFW? What about Greg? I want to see that car run.

We should be able to get my car there.

Greg probably won't make it....lol (he never makes that event for some reason ) His new Turbos are in backorder (Precision 67's), he already sold the 57's so he doesn't have any power now....:thumb:

I don't know what to do because my car doesn't have a cage now and I am sure I'll need one even with the 7.5 psi street tune.
