I am going to be needing some new tires soon.I dont plan on pulling the trigger for about a month. I do not want spend 600+ on wheel yet when the money is spend better eleswhere such as a driveshaft. I am wondering if a 275/40 will fit in either kumho or Nitto. I know tht its not approved size for 8.5 Wheel. If I cant run 275 can I least run a 265/35 all way around. I know 275/45 is an approve size but I dont want pay 300+ per tire and I dont like the look Contintals. I did see tread with a guy running 275/40 but I would like more feed back and some pictures.

I run a 265/40/18 without issue, have you thought about 255/45/18s? if you looking for a cost conscious tire check out Riken, I have then on the front in 255/45 and got them for like 140 each, z-rated and Steeda uses/sell them IIRC

Yea I consider it but 10.16 width is smaller then what I had on my stock 17 on my other car. I had 255/50/r17 Nitto which is 10.43 and that wasn't enough rubber on the ground for the way I drive. I really like to have at least that much rubber again on this car.How do you like Sumitomos and what tires have you had before ? Which Sumitomos do you have? I saw your old thread but the pics wouldn't open. Also does anyone know how Sumitomos run in size compared to Nitto or Kumho?
