This is true, BUT I like the way the car handles after lowering the front end. I think I run -1 7/8* on the drivers side and -2 1/4* on the passenger side. And not that I'm into taking corners, but the bite on initial turn in and the way it tracked in the corners I thought was an improvement. Tire wear is minimal if at all with the negative camber. Improper toe is where you are going to see that tire wear become prevalent. And even though I have a staggered set up, I get discount to flip them on the rims when I rotate my tires. That's another story in itself. Bump steer is negligible and no effect on braking. Maybe I'm just weird.
There are some real benefits of having neg camber but my point was why not have something that allows you to adjust where you want the camber and allow you to run plus or neg 1.5 degrees. With camber plates you get a quiet ride, adjustability and durability you just wont find with the stock units. Upgrade now or upgrade later but you will have to tear it all apart again to do the work when you could of had it all done right the first time.
