I'm not the one worrying about heat. The OP is. Personally, the heat don't bother me.

Yea, in a true race car you're better off without the A/C or insulation. For a daily driver that would suck.

Living in Texas, it doesnt matter what you do. If your car is sitting in the sun all day at work with the windows up, its going to be hot regardless. So instead of trying to prevent it, i just let the car run for 10 min with the AC on before I leave or I just sack up and live with it.

The 3 best things I've noticed help here in TX.

1) Front Wind shield shade
Probably the most obvious...

2) Rear Window Louvers
The rear window is about 1.5 times the size of the front window on our cars.

3) Leave a 2" opening in your windows.
The heat has to go somewhere, it might as well not be trapped in your car, right?


Just for shits and giggles, I left a digital thermometer in my car when the temperature was 93*. The thing read 136* when I got back in it after 3 hours in the sun!!! I left it on the center console armrest so it would not be in direct sunlight (well, sunlight thru glass).

Meh, I just keep my car in a garage. Problem solved. Tint so dark you can't see out of it is both illegal and dangerous.

That would work. If we all worked from home and never had a reason to leave our cars out for extended periods of time. I've visited Phoenix, AZ. I can't believe people CHOOSE to live there!

one thing we are doing on the trucks is fully wrapping the cold line for the A/C in the engine bay first with insulation them protecting it with the foil tape. It seems to drop the temperatures at the vents 5 or so degrees and is a very cheap and simple mod.

I hadn't thought about this, but any insulation will likely help temps.

So is loud exhaust and rowing through gears, but we all still do it
