SVT hood clearance

Does anyone know if the SVT Trufiber hood for an 09 GT will clear a 2.3 liter whipple?

It does. However, I just got off the line with AM and he put doubts in my mind. I guess I could buy and have a dremel handy.....lol

pretty sure it will clear the actual compressor unit..
only problem with the Whipple kit for that engine is the long snout which can have clearance issues with some hoods

You mean a GT500 hood? It should have no problem clearing. My GT500 hood clears a 3.4L Whipple with a 10 rib kit.

It will clear the stock hood, UNLESS you have a 10-rib kit. Then you'll need to do some minor trimming. Also, depending on the pulley size you may need to remove the hood liner.

I do have the 10 rib kit and my hood liner is removed on the stock hood. I guess cowl hood here I come. I just need to decide what cowl hood to get.....leaning toward Steeda ultralite racing cowl hood.

Cowl hood look fantastic! Too bad they are 100% wrong with the aero/cooling needs of a S197. A cowl hood is the last thing I would put on a S197 unless I never planned on going over 80mph.

That's a pretty sweet hood. And it looks pretty tall in the middle like a GT500 hood.

If he is talking about the heat extractor, it should fit. After I got the hood I realized that the lowest parts of the drops are at least as high as the top of the stock hood height. This picture may help.

The SVT one referenced is the one I was speaking of. I appreciate the input but have decided to fab up my own aluminum extractors.

I finally got the SVT hood from AM. It is the TruFiber hood. Pre-fit this eve, paint tomorrow and final fitment on Saturday. Pictures to follow.

It clears a whipple 10 rib kit just fine. Unfortunately, my painter must have painted this in a dust storm. Very disappointing.
