This weekend a buddy and I fired up a "Mr. Heater" and braved the 2-degree weather to install my Stainless Works longtube headers and offroad Y-pipe. I also installed my Screamin Demon Coil/autolite 5143's/JBA power cables/Cabin Filter.

Install was very straight forward and we only got caught on a few things:

#1 was the EGR tube------ The factory manifold had a fitting the screws into the manifold and then screws into the tube itself. I removed the egr connection from the front of the engine then unbolted the d/s manifold and snaked it out through the top of the engine bay. After doing this we found the fitting unscrewed from the manifold and so began the battle of removing the fitting from the tube...ended up breaking a 4 inch vise!!! That's how tight the damn thing was.

#2 was the offroad Y-pipe------ It was a very tight fit and with the slip fit connections it was pretty hard to wiggle onto the ends of the offroad pipes attached to the headers, the freezing cold garage floor didn't help things either. The fitment of the y-pipe makes the intermediate pipe fit too tight and is forcing the muffler to the back of the car. I think this would be solved by trimming 1/2inch from the intermediate pipe to put some "Slack" into the system.

All in all it is loud and raspy, almost wish I wouldn't have done it, I can feel more top end power, however I do notice a decrease in low end grunt..guess I'll have to cure that with some nitrous or a blower  It is throwing a p0141 code so I'll have to hit Justin next week for a tune update.

No videos yet...I still need to do a little alignment of the intermediate pipe, plus I'm going to add a corsa muffler. I will try to post a video once I'm done.
