switching tpms

so i did a search but came up with nothing..


ive currently got

07 mustang with tpms
american muscle TPMS tool
a set of 19 inch RTR wheels with TPMS from a 2010+

a set of 17 inch wheels with tpms for an 07-09

i want to remove them from the 07-09 wheels and switch them with the 2010 ones.

ive heard that i can remove them from the 17s without demounting the tire but how exactly do i do this


i would be having the tpms put in the RTRs at the tire place when i get 2 new tires next week

It's kind of hard to follow what you are asking but the 2010+ sensors won't work on the 2005-2009 cars.

I'm pretty sure these cars have the band type sensors and it's not possible to swap the sensors without dismounting the tires.

I know that the 2010 won't work on our cars,

What I'm talking about is physically putting the 05-09 style tpms onto the RTRs

If Im not mistaken the tires do have to be dismounted to remove sensors. Many tire shops prefer you to buy their sensors before removing the old ones. Its easier on them as they do not have to do double work

I actually sold the rims with the 05-09 TPMS thIs evening , so if I buy the ford 07-09 TPMS sensors the shop can install them when I get new tires? I'm just worried about the sensors fitting the RTRs

Yes sir, you should be able to install on the RTRs
