Spoiler look

So got myself a second hand gloss black spoiler. I would neet to use some 3M tape to close up some of the gaps. Looking for opinions on keeping the stock silver or swithcing to the black.

I don't love the stock wing (my car has the same one) but I wouldn't replace it with that one. Looks like '90s NASCAR to me i.e. functional but not beautiful.
If you like it, go for it though. It's not like it's an irreversible change.

If I had to put an aftermarket spoiler on a car like that, it would be this one. My past Roush 427R spoiler was perfect for the back of that car. Fairly aggressive look with clean, smooth lines that blend well. For myself, I am not a fan of either spoiler Option. That Black one doesn't blend well with such a short trunk surface. But that's just my opinion. We all have different looks we enjoy.

I prefer the look of the stock spoiler but #ymmv. You could paint the stock one black, maybe with some additional black bling.
I went with red accents on my white convertible, plain white was too boring for me.

I spied in one of those photos that you have a gloss black section between the rear lights and what look to be smoked lenses.. black spoiler is my vote. Personally, I like the shape of it better than the factory one, I got a flat black one similar to yours off eBay for pennies.

It's all about personal taste and making it your own. Try mocking up on ChatGPT so you can see what it would look like painted, etc.

My old 06' GT came from the factory with a short decklid spoiler. I rarely see these compared to the pedestal mounted like what's on my 05' GT.

I thought about switching to the V6 spoiler on my car. I like the flat aero-look.

I really considered the Roush, but I didn't want to drill into the rear quarters, and I think it looks better on a convertible than the coupe.

In the end I went with the GT500 style. It's a little shorter than the black one on the OPs car.

The '08-'09 GT500 KR used the v-6 spoiler for a higher top speed, as it creates less drag. The trade off being less down force. I've one I need to get paint matched, if I ever want to swap it out. I do like the look of the lower spoiler.

That blends very well and looks good. I think the stripes complement the spoiler and enhance the entire back end.

Thankyou, I wanted to de-chrome as much as possible on the outside, only chrome i have left is the pony badge on the front grill. I went matt black on the door mirrors too, I tinted the rear lights as the conversion lights had an awful looking centre clear lenses for the turn signal. To be fair I did steal a bit of the design from some guys pictures of his Grabber blue Mustang in the states. I haven't changed much from stock except a Cervini style front chin spoiler and the air vents and side window louvres.
