TCI Ratchet Shifter

Following the instructions to install a TCI Ratchet Shifter, and what do I find...When getting ready to remove the cable from the stock shifter, there's some kind to electronic module just below and in the way of removing the cable. Additionally, the connector that attaches the cable to the stock shifter doesn't look anything like the illustration in the instructions. Anyone have any idea what the module is, and how difficult it is to remove, not much room to maneuver.

What year car? and is it the right shifter for it?

I don't remember any module when I put mine in. Any pics. It is tight up there but once you can figure out how it connects it's pretty easy. I think the center of the clip on the end of the cable slides down and then it should be pretty easy to remove. It was a long time ago that I installed mine. I think my drive shaft was out at the time too.

nope that's pretty much it besides pulling the actual cable connector off of the shift lever nipple.. (hehe I said Nipple
