Thinking of changing wheels again... what do you think?

I have 20" Shelby Razors which look really nice BUT I am thinking about going with 18"s OR going for the full drag race look.

I just remember how much quicker my car felt when I had the stock 17" GT wheels on it for a few weeks so I have been thinking about going smaller.

I do have lowering springs that I plan on putting on sometime in the near future, although... these springs do not lower in much at all. I think like a 1/4 of an inch.

Anyway... I am posting a poll to see what everyone else thinks.

i like the 20's but am like you i put my 18's back on and seam to run better lol. get both 20 for style and 17 or 18 for performance

If you really want to run a drag rim setup with slick's and all, prepare for investment! Driving on the street with slicks really tears 'em up. They're very soft and squishy. It's not a fun way to get around town. Great when you want to pull tire at a stop light, provided they're heated enough lol.

I love my 18" stocker bullets. I was so thrilled with Ford when they made these rims. The 17" Ford bullets looked like crap, IMO. I didn't like the design at all. Really don't care for the fan-blade style ones either. I love the handling aspect of my 275/40/18's w/4.10's. I also have a seperate set of 17" '05 GT stockers that I'll run 26x11.5x17 M/T slicks on. Not sure if I'll put slicks on 1 pair and DR's on the second pair or not. Trying to figure out if I can run my 17's as a "big 'n little" setup or not. All I know is, running a slick in the back with a radial up front sucks big sack at the end of the track. Need to get a non-radial tire on that other pair of 17's so I can run my ghetto big 'n little setup lol.

I would run 20's all day if I could get my hands on the Shelby Akuza's (The super snake rims) and not get price raped. They just aren't worth $500-600 a piece to me.

If you like your 20's, stick with them! I think your car looks sharp with 'em! It would look absolutely sick with FRPP "K" springs. Just run a smaller rim/tire combo if you drag. Changing rims takes me all of 2 minutes for the rears. Unless you just don't like how 20's handle.

If I had to change rim sizes, I would prefer to find a nice 17" that I really like, just for the fact that 17" tires are like 100% cheaper lol. (I spent $680 on my Coopers, all 4 corners, and that's on the cheap-cheap her in Vegas lol.)

If I got Pro Stars or Draglights whatever.. I would not get slicks for the rear. I would have to get like ET Street radial or Nitto 555's or something.

If I go 18's I may get the new edge chrome Saleen wheel or a Black Bullet wheel with chrome lip but I want wider wheels on the back or wider tires.

fyi - the car pictured is a JDM car and the wheels are Bogarts and NOT good for street use.

save your money for either paying the car off or getting performance mods.

I would switch to 18"s if I were you. I just ditched the 20"s for 18"s. The car rides so much better. It even feels like I gained a few hp.

That's a good idea, but chrome is still disgusting and it costs about $180-200 or so per wheel..

No wonder cars are so ugly these days. No one wants chrome any more. Blacking all out is uuuugly.
