Does the brand you purchased have anywhere for the factory fuel rail pressure and tempature sensor? If not, what did you do for a work around for this?

I have looked at a couple of different brands and none of them have have provisions for the fuel rail pressure and temp sensor.

We used a set of Metco rails for Ron's build and they did not have a provision for any type of after market gauge sending units. It had a provision for the factory FRPS of course though. We just drilled and tapped a 1/8 npt hole right into the side of that to attach his autometer fuel pressure gauge though.

Ok, kewl. Will take a look at the Metco's then. Cuz the ones that I have looked at didn't even have a place for the factory stuff, much less any aftermarket.

I have the MMR units, which have provisions for the stock sensor. It does turn it sideways, however. The end of the rails use a O-ring style fitting and I changed mine out for Swagelok 3/8" compression fittings. You could use something like that to remote mount a sender or check for a different type of fitting.

There's a larger vesion of my sig photo on photobucket under Dread53.

Are you guys doing the same thing with mine?

you wont make enough power with the saleen superchager to need larger fuel rails

Maybe not but I have them anyway, who knows what the future holds. You do know though that with all this shit you talk, if I ever beat you in a race you will NEVER live it down.

another valuable display of just how much more important hooking is over power...:moon2:

Trouble is - most everyone always thinks about it after the fact...

I was thinking the exact same thing... I've always believed in the "traction first, power second" motto. So often I read about guys going about it backwards. Power without traction is just... well, its just... a 600hp, 12-sec SYT.

Back on topic (kinda). At what point should one consider a fuel rail swap? When do the stock rails become a restriction? My next round of mods will likely include twin fuel pumps, 60# injectors, Adam's intake and the big TB, and about 15-16psi boost.

I have metco Rails, Metco Fuel Adapter for Gauge or Nitrous, and FYI the metco rails don't come with an Adapter for the stock lines, you need to pay for it on the side.

Here is a pic, you can have an idea.

They are not assembled correctly on this pic.

Well I got them but I really don't think I 'needed' them. The -8 lines, the #60 injectors, GT500 set-up with dual BAP's will do the job IMO.

Take adam's black car for example - over 800 rwhp with exactly what I have above minus the -8 lines (he has stock) and he also has the stock rails. if it can handle that - I cannot imagine you would 'need' them.

As long as the stock lines and rails won't give me grief, then I see no reason to change them. I'll spend that money on something else.

Like I said - they have held up for adam at 25 psi on a 2.8 HO - I cannot imagine you'd see the need at 16 psi on a 2.6 honestly.

Crap, I'm pretty sure Ken has the stock lines and rails on his car too and he's pushing way more than you will also.

I'd wait till you know you 'need' them like you said.
