Ive been pondering what I may be missing not having a Torsen rear diff on my 2013 GT. I've been to a handful of driving events now and I'm ignorant enough to not know what would I be feeling different if I upgraded to the Torsen vs the standard TractionLok that comes on the non track pack cars. Does the car rotate better on entry and pull harder on exit or what? I've done a lot of searching and all I can really find is "it puts down power better on corners". I've never really come out of a corner thinking I wasnt putting the power down fine, maybe due to being at stock power levels still? Sorry for the dumb question.

Yes, it's worth it. On-throttle it will seem to "pull" the car through the corner more/rotate better (as much as "better" can be on-throttle), and will reduce spinning the inside wheel while turning; if you get a T2R that should be eliminated completely.

Not thread jacking just one question..... is there any advantage to having a torsen over the factory LSD on a mustang not being driving at track and just on the street?

The factory LSD isn't that bad on the track anyway. All you have to do is just never drive a car with a Torsen.

Yes it's worth it IMO. Yes it will improve how the car puts the power to the ground. They're very smooth and very consistent.

It's better, much better.

The latest T2 that comes in the Boss/Track pack and GT500 are the strongest of all the Torsens. So far I haven't seen a failure at a drag strip, but I'm also not sure how hard they're being pushed. On the street they're awesome. They're just a bit spendy.

I know I'm kind of a cheerleader for it, but maybe have a look at the Truetrac. I'm a big fan of them, especially for the price.

I had a Torsen LSD in my last car (Lexus IS300) but the transition from one wheel starting to slip to transfer of torque to the other wheel always felt kind of rough to me, almost like pulsating drive you get from a non-CV joint in a shaft at a sharp angle. My Mustang with its OEM LSD and clutch packs, feels much smoother. I don't know if that roughness I felt wit the Torsen was due to the LSD design or something else about the car. Obviously the Lexus also had IRS compared to the mustang's log.

I thought you really, really, really, really, really recommended the Wavetrac as the pwner of all diffs!

For all the grief we give about the T-Lok, it isn't the end of the world to have one. I'd just make damn sure you have it rebuilt before any competition where you REALLY want to win like Nationals or any National tour.

That is what I am using and the 4th I have used over the years in various platforms. I was offered a deal I couldn’t refuse - Pennies on the dollar and much , much less than the T2 would have cost me at the time but it is only a 2.7 to one bias ratio. In a post about 1+ years ago, I gave the torque specs on it - Quoted by the Chief design engineer whose name I can’t remember. It was hard to believe but I could see no reason why he exaggerated. If a search is performed, I’m sure someone could find it.

A FWD Lexus is definitely not an apples to apples comparison. In the Mustang, you won't feel it engage/actuate.

Stock LSD with the clutch packs will wear out within 1-2 years of tracking. They are cheap to rebuild, but is it better to go with a Torsen.
