So I bought two new wheels/tires for the '12 and had them installed at Diiscount Tire. Well they charged me $50 to reset the tpms. I've never heard of them needing to do that. Is this some BS charge they are doing? Manager said when they take the pressure to zero and air it back up, the sensor has to be reset. My arguement was its the same sensor on the same car...wtf?

100% BULLSHIT charge! On our cars the TPMS resets itself. Go back and get your fifty dollars back and call them out for being fucking crooks.

Yeah I got the invoice and it says sensor swap fee. I asked to talk to the manager and he gave me that BS. He told me usually they charge for each wheel, which would be $100. So he tried to say "we only charged you one", like hes doing me a favor...lol. I said there's nothing to reprogram and these sensors are the ones that came with the car. They're trying to say since they are new wheels they have to be reprogrammed, which I know is BS. Gonna call corporate tomorrow and let them know how I feel. If they don't give me a refund it will be the last time I buy from them. Sucks cuz they've always taken care of me.

That's what I thought. The manager was pretty much feeding me BS. I should've just picked up the tires at that point and gone elsewhere.

Newman actually trained me at discount tire lol

They may have charged you a labor fee to break the old tires down to get the sensors out, which does happen

Ok but they would have to break the tires loose even if I used the same wheels on the car. Its a BS charge. Probably just charged me cuz I didn't buy the wheels from them. I could understand if it had the old school bands as those are a bitch but the new ones are easy to just swap over.

Complete BS, If they don't refund you I would honestly try to file a CC charge back. Especially if it wasnt on the original work order

Well I talked to another manager today (who actually knows what he's talking about). H[PHOTOB][/PHOTOB]e tld me that anytime they swap the sensor from one wheel to another they charge $25 a sensor. That I can believe. The other guy didn't know what the hell he was talking about. The manager today said they dont charge for the reset just to swap sensors.
