I think you are asking the wrong question to these tuners. I think the tuners are thinking "can I use the track key and an aftermarket tune together at the same time?" vs. "Can I tune my car, then go back to stock and use the track key."

Per the American Muscle guys, they can't get a tune for it from Bama. Some sort of work around is required within the tuning software. But I'm definitely going to make some more calls and be very clear when I'm asking.

Again, you are not answering my question. You can most certainly tune a boss that has the track key. You just cannot use the track key anymore until you return the vehicle back to stock.

What question are you asking dude??? I've been clear when I have spoken to a few tuners about this. I understand it can be tuned while still having the Trackey programming. But I want to be certain those trackey parameters are available if I choose to remove the aftermarket tune. So I'm making some calls and seeing what different tuners have to say.

OP is in Waco, and TSS is in Orange.....that's a drive for a dyno tune.
My bad, you're right. I thought "Oh in Tx." Which I suppose was about as accurate as "Oh, somewhere on the east coast" lol

What seer is saying is the aftermarket tune is just that. If you decide to sell the car once you reflash with the stock tune the track key will work again as the stock parameters are downloaded back into the car.

I definitely understand what he is saying. But my understanding is the Trackey is in itself aftermarket tuning as its changing several hundred parameters over the standard Boss configuration with the silver key. I'll just do my due diligence when finding a tuner to make sure they can tune around the Trackey tuning.

Of you can just understand that plenty of boss owners have done just what I good you without issue.

You can't use both at the same time. Once you flash back the track key works. There are four local boss.owners I know. All have done this.

Exactly When you tune a car the tuner that you use sct or diablo will save your cars parameters wether it be stock or aftermarket. So why would it not reproram exactly what it pulled from the pcm and the track key not work.

I understand. Just after talking to Bama I assumed something incorrect. Bama will not tune a Trackey enabled Boss. I assumed its because of a programming issue. However after speaking with them it's bc of Ford Racing tunes lingering in "the background" and causing drivability issues, etc. They will only tune them if the car has been taken to a dealer and had the Trackey disabled.

All that means is the AM doesn't want to spend the time to figure out the tune. When you build a tune and load it into the computer, there shouldn't be any lingering features in the background because you started the build with a clean base tune.

Hey brother, you will lose your track key tune with an aftermarket tune from whomever. The track key tune changes multiple parameters but leaves no room for more. Honestly, if you plan on getting further parts for your car the track key is pointless. I would say contact VMP or Lund.
On another note with a tune and MRT high flow catted H pipe my boss made 400 flat RWHP and 367tq on Dan's pro dyno so it was lacking. I picked up another tune from another company VMP and there is a huge difference. :)
