So I thought I would try out Turtle Wax's Black box http://www.turtlewaxblackbox.com/product.aspx. Its a 2 step process for black painted cars and only 20 bucks. Seeing as black always shows swirles and scratchs really well. Well to my suprise this stuff was amazing. If you do use it I would suggest wearing gloves, it turns your hands black. Here are some pictures. Only took about 4 hours.

Did you have any swirl marks prior to doing the wax? Does the wax help fill in the swirls since it leaves a residue on your hands/gloves?

I have been using this product for awhile now. It it awesome. It has made my car really deep black. It seems to last ok but it seems to last longer when I use TW Ice over top. The part I like the best is that it doesn't dry white like other waxes. I have little pit marks on my front end and they have virtually disappeared using this product. For $20 it is an awesome deal.

Looks good, but I'm guessing it's just a filler that'll be need to be reapplied every time it rains or the car gets washed.

That's what I was thinking but it uses a light compound/cleaner wax/swirl remover as the first step.

Granted, doing that by hand is not going to give anywhere near as good of results as using a high speed buffer with a foam cutting pad w/ product — it should still last a little while.

I had massive swirl marks. The car had not been waxed in a long time. From Colorado weather to Georgia rain my car was nasty. Filled in the swirls but it did turn my hands a little black. But nothing soap and water couldn't take off. Did not leave any residue on the car. But I also used an orbital buffer which made life so much easier. For 20 bucks it was worth a shot and did an outstanding job. I wont ever use anything else on my car.

yea I'm using it also. Excellent for a black car. Took about 4 hours to really apply it, but it really does work well. And the people at the company are extremely nice and helpful. Post pics of your car at the blackbox web site and you may win a t-shirt like I did. Courtney the gal that oversees the site is awesome. Very helpful whenever I have a question. And all this for a $20 box of pre wax, wax and some spray on detailer (which I use ALOT).

It's pretty good stuff, JoshC on here (Torch Red 05 GT) used to use this on his lightning. I really like the ShowroomFX stuff for my car though, seeing as they make waxes like this for all color cars including my blue. :D
