160th Soar, Night stalkers, or as the Rangers like to say "160th Soar Female Whores" and "Moral support for the Forward Edge of Battle" I'm not really sure why the Rangers had it in for them so much. All the 160th Soar guys I worked with were pretty cool. Then again so were the Rangers I worked with.

They all fall out of the plane the same way....

I was in the Hooter Brothers. D-Co 1/160th at Campbell. The 3rd Bn Rangers hated the 3/160th guys at Fort Stewart though.

The guys at Stewart were also called the WifeStalkers at one point. The guys in Savannah, GA used to fuck all the Rangers wives while the Rangers were out in the sticks playing Army.

The guys in 3/160th had the white SOF missions. Up at Campbell, we had the real world shit. The was before then COL Cody came in as the REGT OIC and fucked the whole regiment up with his "restructuring" of companies and battalions.

You won't find a single Ranger still on Active duty, or out of the Army, that would call us anything but brothers if they were in Mogadishu. More than one time a well placed stream of 7.62 from a M134 or a few 2.75's made the difference between them dying and keeping on fighting/the convoy moving.

Funny thing is, if there's a Ranger who has served in Iraq or any of the 'Stan's, he probably owes half his ass to the 160th and the other half to the Airforce.

This is very true. It still doesn't inspire confidence in us uneducated self extracting cargo types.

We don't shut an engine down without a good reason, but we train to do it all the time...

2 engines out... then you should be nervous!

Cant P-3's fly on 1 engine??

All 4-engine aircraft can fly on 3 engines... the AF doesn't shut one down in flight unless there is a problem... the Navy sometimes shuts one down for fuel conservation when they don't need range or speed (loiter on station, etc).

We can't even take off if we figure our 3-engine performance won't keep us in the air (it is effected by aircraft weight, temp, etc...).

Actually the C130 is a very impressive aircraft. Can take off on a pretty short runway (like Jalalabad), and can even do it while carrying my 2x uparmored HMMWV's weighing in at 18 tones and 17 tones respectively.

Hell ya they are..They launched one off of a carrier before no?

Yep! It was a Navy Herc that was lightened. A C-130 at the right weight can get off the deck at 95 knots.... So with the ship going 30+ knots, into the wind, you only need 60 knots from the plane.

I love C130's..grew up with them living close to Barnes airport in Westfield, Mass..One of my favorite military planes..But, my favorite is the Harrier, and I am a Navy guy!!! Thats what a few years in an amphibous squadron filled with Marines will do..

The MP Corps is going back to more law enforcement, get use to it because that is the current thing to do. That being said, I'm fortunate to be at the rank where I'd only have to be the DO if I work anything.

Then you should love me; I have 3000 hours in the herc.

Awesome sir..Thats alot of seat time..

OT but, there was a C130 that overshot his landing while I was controlling in the tower with the Jordanians at Aquaba International airport. The Isrealies almost shot him down!!! I was like..Turn right really fast, and dont turn left, there is a mountain...
