Dlux works pretty well actually and looks great when it's done. Even without a compressor, you can still use the cans of compressed air to apply via air brush to speed it up. If you do it the old school manual way, you will see exactly why I recommend ANYTHING to make that procedure easier.
For my Finest clients, I include wheel faces by default but I also offer a full wheels off option as well. In that case I coat the faces, backs, and barrels after a FULL cleaning, clay, and decontamination. The weight should have no issue sticking to the surface at all, it's an adhesive and C'Quartz Finest isn't designed to reject adhesives. I hope that answers your questions. Shoot straight (you use more product due to the nature of air brush but still total worth it) and mineral spirits to clean up

too bad autoality doesnt carry DLUX...
Pricing from CarPro isn't bad but yeah I agree, would be nice if autoality carried it. Maybe we can make a suggestion....

It's not likely that Eric get that much more from CarPro that's coating related. That price is fairly controlled and DC is already short of MSRP by a bit.

I have been detailing my own cars for about 15 years now. But up until the last year I have never taken it seriously or really thought about what I did/learn about the products.
This section of the forum is what got me going and I got my first wax that cost more that $7 (CG petes 53) about 6-8 months ago.
since then piece by piece I have been building up my collection and process.
I just picked up a part time summer job at a detail shop. Now I have a much stronger feel for what I need and don't need, and this big buy has been a long time coming for me.
I was thinking about doing a part time gig by networking on other local forums to do detailing work on the side. Now I am really thinking about it because I just found out that where I work, unless the tip is given directly to me by the customer, I will never see or hear about it. Boss pockets all.
and sometimes these tips can be as high as $40 on a full detail in a shop that knocks out as many as 70 cars a day. So I am bitter and looking for a way out.
also some of the processes done in that shop would make guys on here cry. Same 6 soap buckets used on all cars all day, no dirt traps, just today I watched a guy apply wax with a DA on full speed and a rough compounding pad using one hand and I could see the DA was controlling him.
I just stood there and watched, just stood there and watched......
so yeah, I want to get everything I need to do everything on my own. And now today I am starting to strategize how I can make my own part time operation.

This would be your best bet. That is how I got into detailing. I did a couple of Cars for a reduced rate to get my work out there. My first one was a black Saleen. That one was a bitch, swirled to hell and back. Took me two days but the followups where worth it.
You weren't kidding about Dlux, very tedious using the swabs when applying to the front grill.
Well I was running low on Menzerna P4500 and CG V7 spray sealant. So today I ordered a 251ml bottle of Car Pro "Refect" polish and a bottle of Blackfire Wet Diamond polymer spray to try out. Both of these get rave reviews so I figured what the hell. Since my car is always garaged and not a DD, I really don't use wax at all. Just a good polish with a good spray sealant does the trick.
What finishing pads do you have? All the BF stuff I've tried is great.
^^ I use the Hex Logic black finishing pads when using the Menzerna P4500. I really like those. The other day I had to use an orange Hex Logic pad with the Menzerna to get a bird crap stain off my bumper.
