Got everything together today, just missing a new bucket (gonna get one from Home Depot later). I actually used my new DA with the Ultimate Compound and the Ultimate Wax, I liked the Compound, got alot of the swirls and scratches out. The ultimate wax left a bit to be desired, not as easy to take off as everyone says. Its really difficult to see where you actually waxed because it dries clear really fast. Overall my first DA use was a success.

ZEX, with that grit guard you're probably going to have issues with a standard 5 gal bucket. It will sit too high in the bucket. If you check at Family Dollar or Dollar General you can find a short fat 5 Gal bucket that will work way better.

Also, WTF is that California Water Blade doing in that picture???????????

What do you mean? There are some 5 gallon buckets that are slightly too tight but there's no reason why it won't work if you just push it to the bottom. If you push hard enough you'll be able to get it only an inch from the bottom. I'm guessing you're talking about this, right? Otherwise you can go with a set-up like this...

I believe he got his stuff from DI. The Grit Guards that they sell, which as far as I know, are the actual "Grit Guard" brand will not fit all the way down in a standard 5 gallon bucket like you would buy from Lowes or Wal-Mart. I've had several people complain about this same problem and I also have experienced this issue. Mine sit about half way up in a standard 5 gallon bucket. So, you have to fill the bucket all the way to the tippy top to use it.

Edit: And no matter how hard you push, they won't go down past about half way in a standard 5 gal. Trust me, I've tried. I love the short fat buckets I have, though. They fit perfect all the way to the bottom and fill the entire width of the bucket.

It's not really a problem for me since I've got these buckets. However I used to use standard 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot with grit guards. I agree the buckets were too small for them to fit as intended but you can get them down but an inch or so off the bottom. It does push out the bucket where the grit guard sits but it gets the job done. Unless Florida gets special 5 gallon buckets. I've also seen people remove just a small amount of material from the grit guards and they end up fitting a lot better in the standard 5 gallon buckets.

It is from Grit Guard, if it doesn't fit, I have a dremel and a steady hand, i'll just sand it down a bit to make it fit.
