okay so i know there's a guy or two around here that have had rims cut down..or widened (including me)..they sent them to weldcraft and they were only able to remove 2 inches out of an 8 inch wide wheel.

i had wheels america widen a set of wheels a few years ago...i talked to them today and they assured me they can narrow down a 05gt premium wheel from 8 to 5 inches.

why am i doing this? i just don't like the options that are out there. with all the offset calculators that i have used, there just aren't any front skinnies that will go on the front of our cars that don't stick out at least a little, including the racestars.

so instead of buying shortened a arms and cc plates, or buying wheels i won't be happy with, i've decided to spend 200 dollars a wheel (i already had the wheels) and send two of them to dallas and have them cut down to 17x5 and then mount my m and h front skinnies on those instead of my spare tire rims. i'll post pics when i get them back. the good thing is there's a store here in san antonio that will ship them for free with the rest of the stuff that goes back and forth between the store here and the one up there.

we'll see how they turn out!

I had weldcraft do my wheels. I am almost sure they are 5" or just a touch over. There is pics on there site. I am running the M&H drag front drag radials. The narrowed oe wheels are still heavy when narrowed compared to a drag wheel. I run Weld 17" magnums on the strip with M&H front runners. I am looking forward to the release of the racecraft 17" wheels, should be a great option.

where did you pick up the 17x9's at? and also, when you have the wheels widen, are they able to add some to the front side or can they only add to the center?
