I had a 1994 Ford Probe GT that I really liked for many years, so I was already partial to Fords. During that time I remember liking the New Edge Mustangs, but I needed a 4 season car and the Mustangs were out of the price range of a student.

After time took it's toll on the the Probe, I grew disinterested with cars for a few years. In 2008 I came into some money that allowed to get another toy car. I knew I wanted a big engine (because I didn't want FI - so much for that) and I was through with FWD. I liked the stying of the S197 and before I knew it I owned one. No regrets, this car has been very fun and hasn't missed a beat.

Agreed and in that case, my father has owned (still does) a red 1969 Mach1 since the spring of 1970. So, I guess I'm kinda bias as well.

Grew up in a ford family. Mom's first car was a 69 Mach 1....dad had a 69 Big block firebird, until he drove moms mustang and fell in love. Sold the bird that same year. Older brother's first car was an 83 GLX 5.0....loved riding around in it. He went to the drag strip on the weekends with it and let me help him work on it.

My first mustang was an 89 LX 4banger (for about 2 months), got tired of how slow it was and sold it....added my savings to it and baught a white 85 GT. Twin brother had an 82 GT at the time which fueled me wanting the 85'.

Since then I have owned a 94 GT 97 GT 98 GT and now my 07 GT. Twin Brother has owned an 83 GT, 82 GT, 94 GT, 97 GT, 99 Cobra, and now a 2005 GT. Dad has owned a 69 Mach one, 92 GT, 98 Cobra Vert. Mom has owned a 69 mach 1 and present day drives a 96 GT. Older brother has owned an 83 GLX 5.0, 85 GT, 86 GT x 2, 2002 GT, and is currently looking for a fox body to drop a 351 in it...kind of a project.

Its safe to say its in the blood.

I got my first mustang when i was 14, my mother and stepfather found it at a garage sale, it was a 68 coupe painted a faded "seafoam green"(i think). They bought it for me with the hopes that my stepdad and I would work on it until i was old enough for a liscence. We rebuilt the engine and transmission but something always came up. it would come out of the shop and go right back in for something else. I ended up selling it to my stepbrother for dirt cheap and got an 02 V6. I had always loved the blue with big fat white stripes paint scheme and had planned on doing that to the 68. I dated a girl for a while and her neighbor had an 06 GT with the blue/white stripes. Every day i drove by it telling myself how beautiful it was and how much i wanted it. One day i was at work and my mother called me and told me she found a car for me. She brought it up to the restaurant i work at for me to test drive and i fell even more in love. She took it back to the dealership, they detailed it for me and delivered it to my work that night. I was so excited until the next day when i had to actually go sign all the paperwork lol and even less excited when the Bill came in the next month lol

I had an 04 Mustang GT for a couple of years and wanted an upgrade. So i had the new edge then dad got an 06 GT, traded that in on the 07 because he didnt like the 5 speed in the 06 so he got the auto in the 07. well after a year of barely driving it (had about 700 miles on it) and my 04 was nearing 40K I told dad I wanted to upgrade and he made me a deal I could not refuse. Told me give him whatever i sell me car for, and the 07 is mine. Sold my car for 14,500 and got the 07 with 700 miles on it.

I've been into mustangs pretty much since I can remember. Always loved the way they look and the v8 power and sound. I've had 4 mustangs so far and can't wait to have more. My first mustang was a '67 coupe. After that I bought an 82 4 cyl that I was gonna swap for a 5.0. During that time I found a 94 5.0 that I fell in love with. I got rid of the 82 and worked on the 94. It gave me problems from the very beginning.

Even after experiencing that lime, I didn't give up. I purchased my 06 in March of '08. This car has been great to me. I love the way it rides compared to the sn95. The car is a lot of fun to drive as well. Through the years, with my love for mustangs, my brother ended up getting an 01 cobra. He had always been into camaros. Now my parents love mustangs as well and only drive Fords.

Card carrying Ford hater. Had '69 Camaro, '70 Nova, '73 and '74 Monte Carlo, '55 Belair, '57 210, Chevy P/U, GMC P/U. My first Ford was an '81 EXP (a modern day Edsel). Aside from that we've had several imports both German and Jap.

In '06 I got the itch for a rwd, stickshift car. Drove a G35, neh. Then I drove the GTO. Nice power, pulled well but sort of reminded me of a girl with a real nice personality. After that I drove the Mustang and knew right there I was buying one. I had to eat alot of crow from friends/family about buying a Ford. I countered that there were no actual blue ovals on the car. My in-laws bought one, put a magnet on it and put it on my car.

The '69 Camaro was my favorite car of all time but that current product doesn't begin to tempt me.

I'm been toying with replacing my A5 with a 2011, maybe a 2012 Boss.

My father owned a small Ford dealership since I was 18 months old until not quite 2 year ago. I grew up Ford. Saw all kinds of rare fast muscle cars pass through the family as a kid. Was drawn to Mustangs early and have had several. Buying the '05 was just the next step in progression. My next Mustang will probably be a step back to an earlier era. Maybe even to a Mercury Capri if I find one.....

Who knows for sure.... might be an '11 5.0 too.

:beerchug2: lol, when i bought my stang i showed up to a friends house and he started laughing like crazy. i was confused, he though it was an elaborate pratical joke. after about 20mins and showing him the paperwork he was shocked that a guy that hated the blue oval so much bought one. but the s197 is really and the best mustang yet.

id get text from my firends asking what i replaced the M3 with, and after i replied mustang GT i got a lot of "who is this?" lol.

I used to have a 2002 Toyota Celica GT, Spectra Blue. My buddy had a 88 GT convertible. I initially felt pretty stupid because he got his for $5K and I got mine for $22K. Then he let me take it for a spin one day and I was instantly hooked. The power, the torque, the feeling; I thought you could only have that feeling after having sex. Boy was I wrong.

Now my old man wasn't going to let me sell the Celica because he signed for it, but I vowed that I would own a Mustang one day. Then the S197 appeared and I used to sound like a kid telling my gf that I wanted one. Found the Blue Car of Doom on Yahoo one day and the rest is history.

I 2.5 years ago began looking for a ls1 SS but couldn't find one with low miles for the price I wanted, the new ones hadn't came out yet so the prices were still pretty high. I had 95z28 and had to get rid of it because of my commute. Stumbled across my 05 GT on craigslist for 15k with only 22kmiles on her. Decided to check it out, and loved the ride and the power, etc. So, on an impulse i bought it. Actually regretted it for a while until i found a used 2002 SS with only 8k on it. Decided to go down and test drive it. I couldn't trade in the Stang after that. I had forgot how crappy the build quality was and the mustang was just so much more solid. I was glad i went down because it made me realize how much better the S197 was. Then i began modding the car, which i promised i wouldn't do when i bought the car.

Was a chevy guy due to the fact my first car was a 57 chevy belair with a 350. And majority of my family is chevy. Then I figured I wanted something new. So I literally looked at cars for over a year. I tested out evo's, sti's, gto's and a shit ton more cars. Then I ended up with my stang which I am very happy with and I will probably continue owning a mustang my whole life. Or at least driving a ford.

I grew up in a "bow-tie" house and learned my modding skills on plenty of them including a '68 Nova SS that I restored from a rolling chasis (bought in '85, sold in '02). Fast forward to '07 when I started my search for a ragtop.. I went in many different directions including looking at many late '60s ragtops until I finally talked myself into test driving my current car. After that short drive, I was hooked! I think the key driver was getting once again bit by the HP bug and nothing else out there met that requirement.

i usually owned 4 cyl cars untill i got into drag racing about 3 years ago.at that time i had an 07 eclipse with every possible bolt on that you could get for it but it wasent fast enough.a 4cyl non turbo in drag racing is not really racing and even turbo they are slow to me.so after owning it for 8 months i said it was enough,i wanted to be fast.my goal was to run 8.0 in the 1/8 mile since i tought that was fast enough for a street car.all my other friends that use to race usually ran between 8.5 to 9.0 and i wanted to spank them.
i looked at all my options in rear wheel drive and close to 300 hp that didnt weight over 4k pounds and that it wasent so many years back.it had to be under 24k too.bottom line it came down to a used goat, and the s197.then i went searching for performance parts for both cars and wich will be cheaper to mod and that could take at least a 100 shot of nitrous since that was gonna be my power adder.after all that i went into looking to see who tunes what around my area and when i found out that the mustang was tuned by email and cheap i close the computer and headed to the dealers.i do have alot of friends with 02 camaro ss and sometimes i have wonder if i chose the right car since theirs is faster and take more nitrous but everytime i see them blow a diff or take a tranny i look over to my stang and smile.i have learn to love it very much and has treaded me very well.i believe this one will stay with me till my son gets it.
1/8 mile time wise the car passed my expectations and im not even done with it.

so my first involvement with the mustang began with me working at a ford dealership in 02. i was a lot attendant so i got to drive all the cars on the lot. not really doing anything for me. i finally moved up into sales right when the new body came out mid 04. at the time i was a hardcore import guy. i had a 97 civic with like 4 different motors, a fully built na 05 rsx(aint gonna lie i really do miss that car). so my used car manager bought a roush stage 1 off the street, kinda sparked my interest, but in reality i really LOVED a white cali special. so after a few yrs of them being out, i decided to look harder, and ford was doing 0%. i searched for 2 months trying to find a regular white or cali special and i searched out to vegas trying to find one. but no luck. my dealership had my black one for a while, and they gave my retail on my rsx, and sold the mustang for like 22k. its a 08 gt 5spd, leather 3.73. i pulled up to a local spot to meet my crew(supra, E36, all show prelude, fit, g35, tacoma) and they were pissed/shocked i got rid of the rsx but i took them in a ride and they started to understand. i still get shit though

I wanted a newer car. For the price, and the 300hp, there wasn't anything else out on the market at the time that made any sense to me. Or they had terrible styling. I liked the interior/exterior of this car better.

I'm a late in life convert, I've owned 10 camaros in my life without ever having a mullet, lol. When the first 197's came out I said to myself that ford had a winner with the new body style.

I didn't buy the first year models thinking I would let them work the bugs out, I owned a '93 & '97 z at the time and the only thing I knew about mod motors was the one in my truck and I never had to work on it.

I sold the two z's for my down payment and haven't look back. Took me a while and a few dumb questions to get up to speed on the ford engines but I'm getting there.
