I understand that. In fact, I'm not sure which one I'll actually need. I'm considering both options.

Basically, the car is an 05 S197 (ex-V6) with a 5.4L 3v from an F150. I'm pretty sure the F150 had the thermostat in the crossover, as the driver's side head has the two holes in it. I currently am running a custom AN crossover for the heater with an MMR intake (who's flange runs the entire length of the head, including the coolant ports).

I'm switching to a JPC intake which only covers the intake holes. I'm torn between using either a 5.4L crossover (and hoping the alternator fits) or the 4.6L crossover, cut, smoothed, and extended like Ron (spyder7724)did.

The only problem is that I've been told the heads with the two ports on the driver's side needs the thermostat part to plug it when not needed, otherwise the cooling system won't work correctly. I'm not so sure that's an issue, as I'm currently running an inline thermostat (ala 05-06 GT) with no thermostat in my makeshift AN tubing. It seems to work just fine. The only odd thing is that it takes forever for the car to get warm. It's only been an issue in the winter, as I'm usually more than halfway to work by the time the heater reaches a decent temp.

So I'm a little at a loss. There is a guy over at the Mustang Collective that will sell me his 07 crossover for $30 shipped. I'm gonna take him up on that offer. If I don't need the thermstat, can I just remove it and use the inline GT setup I have now? ....or will removing the thermostat make it leak (or something)?

They are not all the same, 05-06 is different than 07+. Make sure you know what you want.

Jeez dude, I'm up the hill and have mine sitting around someplace. If this is what you want ('05) drive up here and its yours. I'll have to find it, so give me a heads up.

Kick ass. I'll PM you my phone number and see if we can meet up this weekend. It'll be good to meet another forum member, too.

Google Maps says you're only 35 miles away. :thumb:

Yeah I wasn't trying to rip ya one. I really don't have a clue what a crossover is even worth lol. Its laying out in my building if ya need it. Mine is from a 08 and the thermostat goes in the motor not in the crossover I think. Its been a couple of months since I done my swap

I took up the guy on the Collective's offer for $30. I should have that by the end of next week.

I think I'll hold off on getting an 05-06 one for now. I think the 07+ one will work, as it doesn't have a thermostat built in.
