35...![]()
I'm going with a custom gasket set-up designed by Rich Groh
Rich Groh
I'm also having my Livernois heads redone at a different shop and going all Jesel and some other goodies...![]()
Smart man ....side note I wonder if the setup could be drilled/tapped for bigger studs ? Im not sure what levels Vinny or JB are running but it seems the limit people are pushing these too safely is in the 24-27psi range .....
I would get with Ron ( spyder ) on the jessel's lmao , he had his work cut out for him .
Actually, you are spot on and there are some ideas about using billet studs.
No- you got it wrong - Ron had problems because he DIDN'T USE Jesel. He used some cheaper, knock off products. Had he used Jesel - he wouldn't have had any issues. That stuff is the balls best no matter what type of motor.
Mark, what shortblock are you going with?
Not if I buy the damn thing....since he is probably going to be the one to rebuild it for someone if they buy it.

Rats you sold the short block already, I thought I called dibbs on that months ago, it was sold before I even saw the thread. Someone got a sweet deal.
As for the engine, it sucks that you had another problem, but as one of my buddies keeps telling me, speed costs, the faster you want to go the more its going to cost you. You my friend Mark are looking to set records for how fast you go and how much it is going to cost you to get there. But guys like me love guys like you because you test all the parts we want before we can afford to get them. And for that this Bud's for you!![]()
Do the bores have the same rough, scratched up marks in them like the pistons do? Hard to tell from the pics. Looks like the pistons were rocking just a bit in the bores.
Yes and it is exactly matched to the pistons, i.e. the piston with the most damage had the most scratches in the wall and all of the other pistons had slight scratches that were equal in the wall as well. It very much seems the pistons were indeed rocking. I think it may have been doing it for awhile and I just never heard it with my old whipple set-up, long tubes, and loud ass exhaust. Like I said, with the turbo now, I hear everything.
