Why are you trying to trade?

Most likely to reduce unsprung weight. 14" oem brembo rotor weighs 25.3 lbs vs 15" oem gt500 brembo at 32.4 lbs. Not sure what the gt500 caliper weighs in at but thats a significant amount of weight to shed especially when 14" brembo package holds up well with right pads, fluid, and cooling.

I have winters and need to switch around to smaller wheels and no way it's going to clear these brakes.

Does anyone have the breakdown of OEM Part Numbers for the complete 13.75" rear brake setup? I've read through this whole thread, but perhaps I missed it. At some point, I need to narrow the axle on my mini-tubbed foxbody anyway, so it'd be cool to find a way to adapt the GT500 rear brakes to my notch. I have an "extra" set of calipers since my '11 GT calipers will work with the big brakes, which means I can use the GT500 rear calipers in the kit on my fox.

Basically, I just need the rear brackets, hardware, and rotors. Plus I'll need to figure out how to make the parking brake cables work.

Parking brake cables are no issue. They fit same as stock. So do brake lines.
Steve

Sorry didn't read you were putting them on a Fox body.

So we've installed several GT500 13.8" rear disc upgrades lately and today we did a the rears AND some GT500 15" 6-pot fronts on a customer's car. While this Roush Mustang was on the lift we tested several 18" wheels we had on hand, to see if they fit. And the answer is... NO. :( Luckily this guy already had 20" wheels, so he's good to go.

Above picture is our Vorshlag/D-Force 18x10" wheel. These have a huge barrel and do clear a 14.6" rotor with a 6-pot caliper, but not the GT500's 15" rotor.

Above is a Forgestar 18x11" wheel, which also hits the caliper on the inner well step.

So it looks like it might still be possible to clear an 18" wheel, if you are willing to grind on your calipers... or if your race wheels have the well step far enough outboard. Both of the wheels above are sort of known for clearing a lot of brake, so I was expecting one of them to work. Kinda bummed with the results, but I told you guys I would share as soon as we tested these GT500 15" brakes with some 18s.

Thanks,

talk about some massive brakes.

Ordered mine from Rehegan today and cant wait to get them in!

I have the 2012 GT500 wheels so it should clear them no problem.

Only issue I may come across is whether my goodridge lines will bolt right up to the brembos....

We offer a kit for that on our site.

The vorshlag guys do as well.

Thanks for confirming that fitment (or lack thereof) on the wheels.

Regardless, it is a great time to be a Mustang owner!

Found it! Thank you! Once I install my '13 brakes on my coyote, I'm gonna play with some wheel fitment and see if the same setup might work on my notch. That would be cool. :)

Bummer. :(

What of the Vorshlag/D-Force and/or Forgestar 19x10" wheels? I would expect them to clear, but I'd prefer to be sure.

Just wanting to plan for the future a bit for my soon-to-arrive 2014 GT (with track pack and Recaros) that I want to turn into a daily driver + track toy combo (a set of conflicting goals if there ever was one! ). Sounds like I'll probably want to limit myself to 19" wheels for that even though I expect I'll keep the 14" stock Brembos for a while...

I don't know what all the fuss is about - my OEM 18" GT500 rims fit just fine on my '14.

Of course, the OEM 15" Brembo's are sitting in the boxes my 6 Piston 14" Stoptech's (the Roush setup with black paint) came in.

We just fit another set of the 19" track pack GT wheels over these brakes yesterday. While they have cleared in the past, these we used a 3mm spacer to give a little extra clearance.

Installed but yet to test them out.

Brakes are HUGE. Rotors are HEAVY. But it looks SEXY.

FYI.

My GT goodridge lines bolted up no problem.

Also, the existing ford racing brake duct kits for the 4 piston bolt up fine to the 6 piston.
