Well, decided to buy my first home since I will be moving back to MD due to work. It's 4/2.5 3000 sqft on 2.2 acres on Kent Island (Chesapeake Bay) just outside Annapolis. Oversized 2-car garage for when I get the new car :beerdrink:. It was a pain in the ass process but I called their bluff and got word last night they took my price.

I have some improvements I will start on the day after settlement (June 2) including:

-Replacing all major appliances (Fridge, Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher) with Stainless Steel (will take recomendations on brands)
-Repainting the whole house as it is currently all white (already has crown and chair molding)
-Removing overhead cabinets in kitchen to open it up
-Installing garage door motor on 2nd door (it only has a motor on 1 door)
-Painting shutters and power washing house
-Bringing in fresh mulch and cleaning up landscaping
-Sanding the real wood kitchen cabinets and staining them a bit darker (to offset the light colored granite counter tops and medium tone wood floors)
-Replacing front door
-Eventually paving the driveway and sealing the garage floor

I will post some before and after pictures. Few questions:

The floors are real hardwood. I have a dog. Is there anything I can treat them with to essentially seal/protect them?

Lol. Yes it is. I see it as an investment though. There are not many properties on the island with a lot of land, and there is not really any more land to build on. The "new homes" are being built on .2 acre lots....

Grats :) Most hardwoods are pretty tough, I don't know of anyone who has had issues with dogs on their floors. Ours are certainly fine.

Get you a zero turn mower, well worth the expense. Very nice place man.
