Cam phaser, to lock out or limit?

so if i find that the pin is loose (because my car has had the knock for a looong time now so i figure it will be) can i just get new pins and put them in when i put the limiters in? The tuning is the biggest thing holding me back from getting these, so if i can use a handheld (or get a "canned" tune from you guys) i'll be getting these next month.

Once the pin is damaged you must replace the entire phaser.

Ask MexGT posted, it usually damages the phaser housing, sometimes it will also destroy a camshaft too from all of the movement
