Anybody here know anything about portable home generators? My wife and I bought our first house in June last year and in the summer/fall we saw 3 power outages. So this year I wanted a generator just in case and found a cheap 6500 watter that wasn't producing power. Guy said it was the capacitor but for 100$ for a 1100$ generator, I figured I'd take a shot.
I replaced the capacitor and fired it up, I'm reading 240V at the capacitor but only 5V at one of the two 120V receptacles and 5V at the 240V receptacle. I read 0V at the breaker.
Where do I begin testing it to see why it's not producing power to anywhere but the capacitor??
