I am looking to get into a single tune, no big mods just a jlt intake and corsa axleback, I know they charge $150 for lifetime or $50 for one tune. Is this a good safe tune?

The race tune is the best tune and I daily drive it.
Make sure you have good 93 octane gas around and you will be fine.

There isn't a consensus for the one best tuner. It is all about personal preference. He has a good rep as well as Brenspeed, BBR, VMP.

I went with a single tune file from Brenspeed. 92 oct tune for my JLt cai. I'd go for the one race tune for $50.

If you plan on modding alot the tunes for life is a good deal.
Inheritted the tunes for live from the original bamachips.com and AM has always been there to help me.
they are one of the top email tuners along with BBR, VMP, BRENSPEED, Lund, Tillman etc.. (in no particular order)

Do you drive the race tune in the winter? If so, what kind of weather do you have in your area?

Yes I drive it in the winter no issues there at all.
I've been through 4 inches of snow and pretty bad winters, can't go above 15mph in the snow but I will make it home lol :beerdrink:

I get the impression John Lund is considered the Best tuner, but I hear great things about all those shops plus a few others.

My plan is to get a bama tune for now so I can get the JLT intake installed than get a custom tune with 373 gears....... what is needed from american muscle to get the 373 gears? Do i need the installation kit and bearing kit? Rebuilt kit or the 8.8 pinion gearing? Its gonna be a shop thats gonna have it installed.

Race tune is touchy on the pedal and is aimed for more up top power.
It's jumpy, but you can get used to it, as in peeling tires by accident.

I just got my tuner and maps from Bama this evening, I tried the 93 Performance tune and it makes the throttle response much more crisp and drivability is like stock, it was wet out so I cant attest to performance just yet, the 93 Race tune is bit more touchy but not overly so, drivability is again like stock. when it dries up tomorrow Ill see what the performance is like

Little buddy do yourself a favor and get a tune from Jon Lund for your 2012. After doing a lot of research and speaking with Jon about these new cars that's who I have gone with for my latest tune. It will cost you $200.00 but it is worth every penny for the performance and the piece of mind knowing your car has been tuned by one of the best tuners out there. Your # 8 cylinder will thank you also.
