Need some quick help

ok. Need some help here.

I put the fr500s on the gt500 and ever since i put them on, i feel the steering wheel shake back and forth quickly for a while and then is normal for a bit, then does it again. I had the wheels re-balanced and added necessary weight to make sure that it was perfectly balanced. And it felt fine for like 5 minutes, then it started the shaking again. It did not do it with the other wheels that came with the car. Not sure what it is.

any help?

note: It did this before i lowered the car as well.

Did you remove the washers that go over the studs, to retain the rotors? I remember reading that these are a problem with some rims. They keep the rim from mounting flush against the hub.

I did not see any washers. But i shall check.

I think the stock rims have like indentations on the back where they meet the hub, and this allows them to clear the washers. There's only one or two washers per hub. So when you put a rim on without the indentations, the rim isn't "square" to the hub, if that makes sense.

I've seen the same thing, it can cause shaking, they are only on there to hold the rotors on when the car is on the assembly line. If they are on there take them off and see if it helps.

A tire could be out of round as well. It will still balance on the machine but will causing vibs/issues while rolling.

The car did not come with stock wheels when i bought it. But i will check this out.

You need to find a tire place that has a Road Force balance machine. Some times a wheel will balance fine on the machine but will still cause problems when mounted on the car. It has to be a problem with the new wheels and tires since it was fine before the install.

My friend works at toyota and they do road force.

prob need to be rebalanced or correct lug nuts. am sent me the wrong lug nuts when i pur my wheels and tires. but balance problems are common with online tire and wheel pur.

i changed the lug nuts when i put the new wheels on. im gna go back to the old ones and see if that fixes it

Okay, i put the old lug nuts back on and checked for the washers there. So now im stumped. Not sure what to do. call American Muscle?

If you have the same size tires on all four corners, try putting the fronts on the back and the back on the front and see if the shaking stops. If it does then it could be an out of balanced tire, if not then it more than likely is the rotors.

Also, are your wheels center balanced, inner or inner/outer. If its just center only thats pretty tough to balance.

i bought a set of tires from cruizin concepts and had the same problem. had to re-balance both front tires but one of the tires had to be broken from the bead and rotated 180 deg.

That doesn't mean the other ones are wrong. I've used them before and had no issues.

they dont have a bulge end and will dig into the wheel. i went round and round with am about this. finally talked to the right guy and he was gonna correct the problem. dont know if they are sending out correct ones now, but they gave me a credit.

the rear are bigger then the fronts so i cant rotate. And the are inner/outer balanced.

i had those and put them on, i changed back to the old ones and they still did it. I ordered the ones u just gave a link to and ill see if they do it.
