I didn't say it was less capable. You said the iron was less capable than the coyote, when no one has made enough HP yet to prove your claim.

Valve timing only goes so far. You can only fill a cylinder so much. Don't get the coyotes stellar performance confused and tribute it all to heads. Compression has a lot to do with it. You think cam timing is the end all ? Come on. It allows you to have your cake and eat it,too. The article shows nothing more than what we already know. Compression builds cylinder pressure. Cylinder pressure makes power. Even says that in the article. How about this. Make the coyote 8.4-1, and the 500 12-1. Lets see if the cam timing will over come that.
You know people ran 9's with the 5.4 in N/A form years ago right ? With navigator heads no less.

Careful....don't put words in my mouth as I said nothing about cam timing being the magical recipe. I know far more about the way it all fits together than you imply and have been doing this for some time. ;) Hemi is wrong about his assessment and that is what sparked this OT discussion.

Re: N/A 5.4 in the 9's, sure in a paperweight of a car. JPC has done it with the 5.0 in a heavier platform. Both are great accomplishments none the less.

Cmon guys if you wanna debate whats better start your own thread. Now GTFO and let Seer have his thread back. lol

Agreed. This fell off the tracks. Enough is enough.

YEP, that one. Indubitably. Both are the shit. The platform JPC used was heavier to start. But they're both paper weights compared to nowadays. JPC's came in at 3030. That's not a heavy car. And it's still over half a second and close to 10mph behind, and that car isn't even using GT heads. I'm positive JPC will better those times. But for now your argument doesn't hold water until somebody beats that slow, technologically inferior, cast iron blocked 5.4's time. (<-----It's got a carb no less) ;)

I don't think I put words in your mouth. You didn't think it was the compression that made the power because you said to build a 12-1, 5.4 and it would still loose. A built 5.4 can turn rpm as well. And you can even put cams in them lol. I don't see what's left for you to think a 5.4 can't keep up. But back to Hemi's original point...out of the box, they still look like the better power potential engine to me. Until they start making the coyotes 1000+hp capable from the factory, I don't think any amount of light reading is going to change that. Everything built to the hilt, all thing equal, the coyote still lacks one thing. Cubes. The coyote can have it's cake and eat it too, and that's awesome. I'll take a rougher idle for more cubes. Time will tell, but right now I just don't see it. Although we'll have something very special coming out of the shop that may make me eat my own words lol. It's all a moot point anyways because it's in a fat car. It's like bringing a knife to a gun fight lol.

custom turbo kit... j/k, bet you got all horny there for a second though? Actually turbos would kick ass though.

Just ordered the resonator delete and the airraid filter. Probably going to buy a 2.59 pulley, puller tool (unless someone has one they wanna lend), and 90mm idler.

Bassani axle back is on it's way, still need an offroad pipe.

Also have a full SVTPP suspension to me later on today, but want to order new springs for it.

Going to buff it, and possibly wet sand it over the winter, throw on some optiguard, then a ton of zymol vintage on it :D

Hey Seer wanna donate those beautiful hids to me?

Hmm.. the car has hids? J/k. I havent driven it much.

I love the black with red stripes, that thing looks mean man. Nice choice. I have come close to throwing red stripes on my car several times!

Always horny. At least for a second I had a reason LOL. Should love that car man. Doesn't take much to make serious power.

Juicy, hush it. lol

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it. GT500 aftermarket seems a lot different... used to have an 03 cobra though, so a lot of it is making sense.

Seer, this car is a blast. Have fun with it; I know I am mine!! Do you have any tips to really clean and protect the paint (wax ect....) as it will sit over the whole winter and I will have plenty of time to do it. I'm not really down for wet sanding it though, I'm not that brave yet.
