ok so i don't know if this is an issue for some of you, but i absolutely HATE the 05-09 stock seats, i have never been so uncomfortable in a car before in my life. im looking at the corbeau CR-1 seats, any one have any experience with them? how are they compared to the stock seats?

you dont find the oem seats comfortable but you want to get racing seats to fix that? I dont think youre going to find "comfort" in those.

any racing seat is going to be more supportive and keep you in the bucket. i dont know how good it will be as far as comfort tho. i know safety and lateral grip is the main goal with racing seats/buckets so i cant imagine comfort ranking too high on them. i will say all of it is subject to preference and maybe you will find it more comfortable to have a seat that doesn't let you slide all over the place when you turn hard

I do not care for my 2010 seats either. No lower back support and the head rests suck. I can buy after market adjustable headrest but they are leather and I have cloth. I would be very interested in this thread since I have a bad lower back and I would love a more comfortable seat.

I have the CR1's from Corbeau in my car and they are much better for keeping you in the set while racing or taking corners, but as for them being more comfortable then stock, there is no way. They aren't bad for short trips, but after an hour you'll learn they could use more foam.

If you can live with the seatback reclined just a little further, the head rest issue should go away. My lower back isn't in the best of shape either and positively hates being sat bolt upright in any car seat. Not laid way back either, just enough to get the headrest off the back of my head seems to fix both issues.

I have the FX1's and I love them. However, my fiancee haaates riding in my car now because the seats are too hard. Basically a win-win for me...

I was just going to post who has fx1's and how they like them. That answers it. How are they on longer trips?

For me personally I would splurge on seats, I mean thats were you spend most your time in the car. Get a nice set of Leather Recaros or Cobras (if leather is what you).

I love my fx1 pros (suede)! I have taken the car on numerous 3 hour trips with them and loved every minute of it. Everyone of course will give you different responses depending on what they interpret as being "comfortable". If you prefer being firmly planted in your seat then go with a quality race seat.

I'm just curious if I need to sit on a pillow or not for the long trips. Lol

I honestly love my FX1's, especially the microseude covering. I think the seats are comfortable enough and any uncomfortable aspect of them is greatly outweighed by their weight reduction, support, and looks. My car isn't a daily and it might get a tad annoying having to maneuver my way in and out of them daily (because it isn't easy like the stock seats). However, given all that, their looks, performance, and cost make it one of my favorite mods thus far.

FX1 > stock seats. I find mine much more comfortable than the old stockers. They offer better lower back support, and my ass doesn't go numb on longer drives. They are all fiberglass so there's a little bit of flex in them.

I am in the same boat. I want better seats but do not want to give up my heated seats or deal with the airbag crap.
I am fortunate to have 3 stangs at my house. A regular GT, a gt500 and a roush. I love the gt500 seats in leather, but the roush seats are much more comfortable and have better side bolsters.

So I am having a friend of mine redo my seats with better side support and also a micro suede center. Cheaper than new seats and I can adjust the feel before the final covering.

Just a thought for you guys.

I'd take the FX1's any day over the stock seats. I'm serious when I say these two things the aftermarket seats will do for you:

1. Improve the overall feeling of driving
2. Improve the overall looks of your car

I've had other drivers ask about my seats at stoplights, comment on the yellow harnesses, and say how cool they look at through my windows when creepers are looking in while I'm parked. I love the 'hugging' feeling they give me and I do personally think they are more comfortable than the stockers. The only gripe I have about them is the added difficulty in getting in/out of my car now, but I think most of that comes from me being extra careful so as to not wear out the side bolsters too quickly.

Sure, there are much nicer seats, whether it be from materials or other features, but I'm happy I went with my fixed-back, suede FX1's every time I look at my car let alone drive it.
