Well I'm kinda pissed atm. I ordered my wheels JAN 6th through Dv8motoring.com ----Come to find out according to the forgestar tracker, It looks like they didn't even place my order with forgestar until FEB 1st and I was unaware of the tracker up until like 2 days ago. So I'm on the 7th week and forgestar is saying another 5-6 weeks. FML. My brembo tires are bald as I downsized to 18s and already have tires for the new ones so now i'm driving a car with bald tires when good ole spring rain starts to be popping up.

That's ridiculous that they didn't place the order until almost a month later. I'd ask for some kind of compensation from DV8. There's just NO EXCUSE for that, if what Forgestar is telling you is accurate.

To be honest, I don't understand at all why it takes so damn long. On that tracker, there isn't even that many wheels listed. Do they have like one employee in the factory that only works 1 hour a day or something? LOL.

As far as that cheap price I posted before from the Vette vendor, they are supposed to be calling me today. Will report back.

By the way, in terms of the tracker, are you talking about this?:

http://www.forgestar.com/sale/

Mine aren't there. (4-18x10's in silver.)

No, I think what you posted is what's currently in stock sitting around.
Hell If I hadn't already prebought tires I'd take those CF10's they've got sitting in stock.

This is what i'm talking about in terms of the tracker.

And yea. Talked to the dealer and he said if they can't get it done within 2-3 weeks that he'll give some sort of compensation.

Haha they offered me that set but I stuck to my guns...I should have the first set of 19" CF10's:highfive:
Yea I specifically ordered 18s so I could run that 335 tire in teh back and tires are cheaper but if I knew it was gonna take this long I probably could have had enough for 20 inch tires.

I am considering ordering the 18x9 for 275/40/18 tire and 19x11 to run 335/30/19 rear. Does anyone else run 335/30/19 in the rear and what are your thoughts.

One week into my order and I got word machining is done on my wheels and they are going for powder coating. Maybe I'll get lucky and get them in less than 6 weeks!

WTF what style and sizes did you order?

I spoke with forgestar owner directly and he said mine were at powdercoater and should be done within two weeks. So we'll see.

Well, here's the fun I've been having my my order on these wheels…

As some of you may recall, earlier in this thread I posted that I found a vendor who sells them cheaper then anywhere else I found, and $171 cheaper then what I paid @ Forgedwheelsource.com. ($1340 shipped vs $1169 shipped for (4) 18x10 F14's). Well for the record that other vendor is Supervettes.com (I spoke with them and they can get them also for the Mustang, same price, no problem) so what I tried to do was cancel the order with FWS, and re-place the order for the same wheels with SV. Problem is FWS refused to cancel the order and I've been arguing with them ever since and just yesterday I issued a dispute on my credit card for the charge. Here are my two main arguments.

1.) First off, FWS advertises a "price match guarantee" right on their website. When I asked them to price match Supervettes price they refused. Claiming Forgestar won't refund their money so they can't refund any of my money.

2.) The day I sent them the order cancellation just so happens to be the day the claim the wheels were machined. (2/23) They claim they can't cancel the order once the wheels have been machined. However, I don't know where this rule comes from. There is nothing in their terms and conditions that says you cannot cancel an order, only that you can't return custom wheels. This isn't a return since I don't actually have the wheels.

When I contacted Pete @ Forgestar about this he said work it out with FWS. When I went back to FWS they said They can't refund me because Pete won't refund them. I went back to Pete asking him if that was true. He responded basically avoiding the question and saying I can't cancel once they've been machined because there is a cancellation fee and its up to the vendor, because I am their customer. So basically one is pointing the finger at the other.

I responded telling Pete to please just refund FWS because as he knows I will be ordering the SAME EXACT wheels thru SV. I said there is no need for a cancellation fee, it just takes a simple refund to FWS. I have issued C.C. refunds where I work and it takes 2 mins and we incur no fees. That email was on Tuesday and I still haven't heard back (Previously Pete always responded to me the same day) so I think they basically just said F me at this point. And that's why I issued the dispute on my C.C. yesterday.

Oh one other thing is I also offered FWS if they could just change my order from plain Silver to the Machined Titanium for the same original $1340 price then I'd be happy. That was my last email to them on Monday and haven't heard back from them either whereas before I always got a response within 1 day. Again, I think it's an F me at this point.

We'll see what happens with the dispute. I would hope I wouldn't lose the dispute but who knows…

Sorry for your troubles, but this is how it goes with made to order stuff. When a company makes custom anything to your specifications and they have already been made.... they're not going to refund you. Looks like Pete confirmed they were cut too, so... just bad timing for you. I personally don't think either vendor has done anything wrong.

Now... would it be fair to give full credit to FWS knowing you are ordering the wheels from another vendor, sure. The only problem there is that he risks the relationship with his dealer (FWS). We'll see how it pans out for you, but... I see nothing wrong with what they have done here.

1.) As I indicated, I read through FWS terms and conditions and it doesn't state anywhere that you cannot cancel an order. This is all they have on their site with regards to returns/refunds:

There are no returns on special order or custom build products. We here at www.forgedwheelsource.com strongly recommended that the end user disclose all vehicle specifications upon placing order such is if vehicle has oversized brakes, body kit, suspension alterations etc. There are no returns or exchanges on merchandise in used condition, damaged condition, or otherwise any condition that is not brand new. Any tires or wheel and tire packages are considered in used condition once they have been mounted on a vehicle OR driven on.

Nothing in there states you cannot cancel an order. It only address returns which is obviously AFTER you have received the wheels. There is NOHING about once the wheels have been machined, etc etc. And as far as I know there is no binding industry law.

Furthermore, these wheels are really only "custom" because the manufacturer chooses to make them as they are ordered, instead of keeping them in stock. These are not 1-off pieces and I certainly won't be the only person to order 18x10's for a 05-up mustang in their recommended offset. In my opinion if this is how they choose to do it, they have to expect and assume some risk in the fact that some orders will be cancelled and have some means of stocking those orders. Funny thing is I've seen several posts on forums where Forgestar is selling wheels in stock ready to go from order cancellations. So I know it's something they will do. And if these were truly 100% custom 1-off items, it would be different and they should have it all in writing that once you click "order" you can't at any point cancel, or that you are subject to this or that fee or whatever. However, that's not the case.

2.) FWS advertises "price match guarantee" right on their website. They are refusing to honor this. How can it be a "guarantee" if they won't even price match before I've even received the product? This to me is false advertising and that alone is enough to justify my claim. And for the record, there is also NOTHING in their terms and conditions explaining this claim they make on their home page. Also, its my understanding Forgestar takes 1/2 @ order and the other 1/2 when it ships (Even though I paid FWS the full amt up front) so they should have no probs adjusting the price to honor their own "Guarantee."
