All the sudden it just struck me as a really funny thing for mustangs to be in a slammed competition, lol.

Yep. Seeing Mustangs being "stanced" reminds me of a thread I just saw on allfordmustangs. Dude wants to put Dayton Wire Wheels on his 5.0 and he's getting a lot of crap about it. I say let him do what he wants. There are all sorts of different genres in the car scene. I'm not into the stance movement (asian style) or the lowrider scene (mexican style), but hey, to each his own!

I believe they're on the same suspension (air lift), and the Shelby is on 20s. So the black car wins by proxy. (I think it's on 18s)

Yes the Shelby is on Air Lift Performance suspension on 20's. Our black car is on 18" track wheels and tires in this picture.

I am also interested in seeing more pics of your car, preferably ones that show how the wheels line up against the fenders. I'm wondering if a <30mm offset wheel will stick out past the fenders.

Sorry for the lack in a more prompt reply. The offset really only plays part of the equation when you are considering wheels.
You have to take into account the wheel's width and also as important the tire's section width when dealing with a low offset.
You want to make sure your tire's section width does not exceed the wheel's overall width especially if you want to keep the tires tucked or at the fender with a low offset.

IMO, I think the best to way to get your wheels flush would be to find a set of wheels that are really wide with a high offset this way you can use a spacer to adjust how far you want your wheels to come out.

I'm looking into a new coil-over system when that's in, I'll have plenty of pictures up.
