I ordered a VMP Tune from their website and I was wondering how everyones experiences were with the company. I was told that it could take a couple of weeks to get my new tune but I have yet to get an email confirming that they are working on a tune.

I also am seeking advice on what additional 'revisions' to ask for as I want the most performance out of my car that I can. Mustang is an 06' GT Auto Vert with LT's, Off road Prochamber, 4.10's, JLT Series 2, and spiral flow mufflers dumped after the rear seat. I asked for xtra firm shifts, raise the rev limiter 400 rpm and also inquired about bumping up the factory stall, though not sure it can be done on the 5R55. Is there anything i'm missing? Thanks in advance guys!

I have a VMP tune and I fucking love it. Justin is a great tuner. Hes a one man show, so hes always very busy. His tunes are worth the wait. You won't get an email confirmation saying that hes writing your tune, just the order confirmation. Once hes done with your tune he will email it off to you.

After I added 127500 cams to my car, Bama couldn't get the tune dialed it. It idled funny, sucked gas, and was a PITA to deal with. After 4 revisions from them I gave Justin a try. One shot is all it took. Car drives like stock now.

I'm just trying to stay away from my previous tuner due to the customer service issues I, as well as many others on this forum, recieved. Though this thread is not to bash my previous tuner LOL that has been done enough here! Is there anything else I should be asking for? I feel like i'm missing something?

yeah, still running factory height. Will revs per mile still be accessible on my livewire? I may bump up the tire height in the future to around 27"

He leaves tires and gearing unlocked for you to play around with.

I'm another satisfied customer. I got my mail order Whipple tune the day after ordering it and it was perfect. This was in February. Its race season dude. Any tuner that also races like vmp does will cause a wait

Be patient he'll get to you. He leaves many parts of his tunes open. You should be able to adjust shift press and shift points along with your speedo and gear ratio

I've always had excellent experiences with VMP in the past, but the last time I tried ordering a tune... not so much. All I wanted was to have the tune adjusted for the FRPP intake, TB, 110mm JLT, and 127500s. He flat out told me he couldn't tune the 127500s with the JLT and that was that. I can understand him not wanting to send out a tune he's not 100% confident in, but bama (lol I know) nailed the tune first time. Perfect idle, perfect drivability, good top end with a slight loss down low.

Edit: I'd like to emphasize that the reason that Justin "couldn't" tune for that combination was because the untested JLT110mm. Completely understandable and I'd hate to misrepresent a company without being as specific as possible. Was it something a customer would want to hear? No, but frank honesty is better than just guessing and emailing out a crap tune. Unfortunately for me, I didn't have my old 89mm CAI laying around and waiting a week for a different CAI wasn't an option. I needed a tune and bama did it for me. My one semi-negative experience won't keep me from going back to VMP though.

My speedo is off with correct tire sizing and gear ratio. Both were set by me and according to my GPS its off by 3 mph, but it was off that much when stock as well.
I read this on this forum and it works is to multiply the the tires manufacture revs per mile by 1.03.

The manufactures tire revs can be way off. They aren't measuring the tire on your rim, with your pressure, and mounted on your car. The only reliable way to get correct tire revs is to do the math yourself. Measure tire height, multiply by 3.142, divide 63360 by the tire circumference that was determined in the previous step.

I'm another convert to VMP after the "other" company jacked my free tunes up for the fourth time. It took one adjustment to get it dialed in perfect. I paid the extra to have the tune expedited. Justin returned my call when I had questions, and though busy, took the time to explain the answers. I'm a very satisfied customer and just upset I waited so long to switch over.
