Best Camber plates? Which ones?

Just like it says... going the way of adjustable caster/camber plates and would like some input on what your experience is with them.

j&m makes excelent quality products at an extremely reasonable price,

maximum motorsports are excelent probabaly the best you can buy but cost is very high.

I second the J&M plates...got those on my car and love them!!!

Although they are not at the same level of adjustability of the MM ones.
All depends what you're looking for...street/strip (J&M) or all out race (MM/Steeda).

You ever had trouble adjusting them? And how much camber can you actually get out of them? I have a buddy that has the J&M's and says he can only get -2 out of them and they are always sticking on him. Do you have the Street or Race version?

I'm running the MM ones and I love them. I can't remember how much adjustability they have exactly but it's a lot.

Did you have to cut out any of the top of the shock tower to make yours work? And might you have some pics of them installed?

I have the MM ones I had like 2.6 degrees of adjustment on them. Super easy to install no bearing in them so no need to worry about that it does use the old rubber mount from the stock mounts and a metal plate.

2.6 would work for me. But one thing, I was just reading their website and it says this...

"Improves dynamic alignment stability by eliminating stock rubber-bushed upper strut mount."

But your saying the rubber mount stays? Are we talking about the same ones?

I've never adjusted them...the alignment guy has and his comment was he loved them!! Easy to work with. I think max adjustment is 2 degrees out of the street setting and a little more out of the race setting.

Depending how you install them, you can set them for street or race...the race has more degrees of adjustment I believe.

And no stock parts are reused...this replaces completely the stock one.

According to MM, they only offer 1.6 degrees of camber and 0.7 degrees of caster. So the only benefit to MM version is the caster adjustment.

Ya, and J&M says 1.8... so I must be missing something because I've heard people say they've gotten 2.5-3.0 out of both. Not sure where they disconnect is. I want to be able to get at least 2.0 MINIMUM out of the set I get though.

I'm thinking the disconnect is people don't know what they are talking about... lol

How do you know you absolutely need 2.0...?
You're only option seems to be is to buy one and try it out.

I think that are all in the base ball park of adjust-ability due to the limiting design of the strut towers. I believe thats your limiting factor. Without modifying the strut towers, I don't think you'll be much more.

All I know is that the J&M plates have two ways to install, street and race, and they gave me enough adjust-ability to have correct camber on my car which the stock strut plates did not.

yes stock........say you go in for an alignment and your camber after putting lowering springs on is -1.3...........with the MM ones you would get another 1.6 degrees out of them, so you could either be at +0.3 or -2.9 degrees. It isnt that hard

And usually you can pull more so than that to go negative.

Look at the installation and you have to separate the top of the stock mount from the rubber spring perch.

I picked up set MM CC plates from the classified and they where a bit of a pain to install into the mount but the again I was doing the install by myself.(had no rubber band)
Once they where in I could easily say they are easiest CC plates that I've ever adjusted.

My buddy bought the J&m. Nice piece for the money. That said I went ahead and spent the money on the MM. Glad I did and very nice piece also.
